normally if a game isnt all its cracked up to be, i just move on, but this time i have to state an opinion. THIS IS THE WORST GAME i have ever played. ive been playing games since the first myst, yes im that old. its boring, badly put together, dull, impossible to follow, and just a dud. i played the first barrow hill and enjoyed it, was looking forward to playing dark path and hoping to play the third one. not a chance. ive given it a chance, hoping it will get better but it didnt. frankly i will be very wary of buying another game from this company, barrow hill dark path is not worth the money, not worth the effort. if you want to be bored, frustrated and just plain p--------- off this game is for you, if you want to have a good experience dont bother. its awful.

I moved your post to Adventure Game Discussions, as your post is a discussion of the game itself rather than needing hints for it.

I am sorry you did not like the game. We had quite a few players here who enjoyed it.

I liked it.
You're making me want to play it again.

I loved it! I am eagerly awaiting Bracken Tor and I don't think I'll ever tire of Matt's games. I'm sorry you didn't care for it.

After I got used to the dreadful navigation, I loved the game!

The navigation system gets extra credit for not giving me motion sickness.

You're not the only one, Jenny! I know someone else who gets motion sickness with some games.

I got lost a whole lot too! It says a lot for the game that I continued on despite the fact I kept getting lost.

It's a major problem if you like 1st person adventure games.
Nearly all of them are going to 3D now, with the exception of games that use photographs, like the Carol Reed games and now Silent Footsteps. The Dark Path and Catyph are the only other recent non-casual 1st person adventures I can think of that don't use 3D navigation.

I got lost more in The Dark Path than the original Dark Fall though.

Same here... I don't remember the first one being quite that hard to navigate.

I like but still have to finish this game !! redface

I got lost SO often.
But when I have more time I will play it again.
[Although with a walkthrough to hand for directions evil]

I get lost in real life if I turn more than one corner so you can see how I would suffer in this game lol

I loved it but like a lot of people, I got lost so many times, but then again I have absolutely no sense of direction LOL

I feel the exact opposite of all your statements. It has an exciting and entertaining story, i liked the "new" look at Barrow Hill and the hints to a much greater story at Braken Tor.
I loved it and can't wait to play the next game by Matt Clark!

I echo that. Seagul.

I'm really surprised that someone dislikes the game that much.

But then I had a similar reaction to The Longest Journey and only finished it because everyone raved about it. Clearly, not many, if any, share my view of it.

Just goes to show "One man's meat......."

I absolutely loved the first Barrow Hill and was probably one of the first on the door step when the Dark Path was released. I too got lost many times but enjoyed it SO much.
I too, get motion sickness with the 3 D games so it's wonderful some developers are realising this and continuing to make the traditional point and click or the transition screens as in the Carol Reed Games (another favourite)
I am now eagerly awaiting Braken Tor...love the archaeology themes...
