Hey Everyone!
Quite a bit going on behind the scenes on The 13th Doll. I'm keeping up with my promise to be here more often and to act as your semi-official liaison to the Attic Door Productions team. After all, you've all been rooting with us since the beginning! (way, way back before the Kickstarter in 2015)
First off, there is still quite a bit of re-working on some of the models. Lighting changes need to be made, and several models still need a serious reduction in polygon count. There is also work being done on the hint and in-game menu systems. We want to ensure that we can get the hints out there, while allowing for language localization and other important features.
I also feel it important to tell you a bit about me in regard to my part on the team. My name is Chris. I am not a developer or a 3D modeler. For a while I was the website guy for the team and continue to do community engagement activities. That being said, not being a coder or modeler has its drawbacks as I don't often feel like I have been contributing a ton to the team.
Well, that has changed quite a bit now that we are diving into marketing planning. Oh, don't get me wrong, marketing isn't my day job or anything like that. However, I have found myself coming alive learning about marketing and how it helps to build community. I've been learning about customer profiles, about different ways of reaching new people, and coming up with a lot of creative ideas. Obviously this is a team effort and my say is never the only one. That being said, it has been very rewarding to be able to contribute in this way and I am more excited than ever to be part of the Attic Door Productions team.
That's about it for now. Again, I will continue to post updates here because, you're all awesome and have been from the start.
