Fans of this beautifully rendered series will like this latest game and won't find any surprises in it. I played through the Demo and it is graphically appealing, as usual. It doesn't evolve the gaming experience, however, staying with the same themes, artwork, character behavior, plot device and HO scenes as it always has used. Every Dark Parables game is like the preceding ones, only changing character names and locales. For this reason, they can become repetitious if played one after the other. In that sense, this series feels "old;" by staying with a tried-and-true formula, it has not "matured."
There are at least a dozen games in this series. I have played ten of them in the last four years, and gave two of them my top rating (although they are not on my Favorite Games list, slated for Replay). If you play them widely separated in time, you will find them far more enjoyable.
