Can someone explain this to me? Do you just go in a dungeon of your choice and get old items sets and update them to your current level?

Thanks Marian wave

Debra, yep that is it in a nutshell. The items have to be something your character could equip and they have to be similar in function. For instance, you could not transmog a hat into a sword, but you can transmog a gun into a crossbow, which by the way, is a great way to get rid of the kapow kapow and still use a gun. Snowowl is using a transmogged bow now in fact.

It will cost you about 100 gold (or at least that is what mine cost). Also, you can't transmog from an item that has already been transmogged. For example, if I want all my weapons to look like my current bow does (it's a bird) then I need to keep the original bow from Kara that I used to transmog the one I am using.

It's a lot of fun if you are after a particular look or if, like me, you can't stand the gun noise but want the damage.

Thank you for this information. I also found an addon called Mogit that will show you what the items will look like before you commit yourself to them.

I have not done any yet. I just wanted to know how it worked so I'd be ready when I have the right equipment.

interesting info - i've never really found anything i wanted to keep the appearance of until now on my spriest - she has a rain poppy staff which is animated and colorful, and goes nicely with her current robes and shoulders.
so unless i find something i like more ,i'm thinking i'll be keeping the look of these.
i never have my headpiece showing ,so i never know what those look like . lol

Yes, it's great fun to be able to keep a look you like while having better stats. puppy

Another way to see what looks good on your toon is to "Ctrl-Left click" on any gear item in bags/bank this will bring up a screen of your toon with the item equip. This also works with the add-on Atlas Loot from the dungeons. You have a high lvl toon you can solo these to get good looking gear. smile
