Absolutely. It adds good flavor and the alcohol content is cooked off.

Oriental cooking with Sake is great. I use it for meat marinades too. Spaghetti sauce (or any Italian sauce) is yummy with burgundy or Marsala wine.

yes, red wine... white wine... just be sure you do not cook with any wine that you would not drink...
red wine in like a beef stew... white wine... you can make some nice lite sauces... little wine to deglaze your pan... little lemon... turn off the heat... a little butter.. goes real nice with fish.:)

The Best part of Birthday cakes....Is the Italian Rum Cake....

Most Good cooks always use wines in their cooking.....Makes for a Great Palette...

Ana, that is very interesting! I've always heard that it burns off, but never thought about how long or percentages.

Thanks Niki for a great question. wave

thanks for the link Ana

I will have company in a couple of weeks but because she drives I never offer her alcohol but I was thinking of making a red wine sauce to go with a meal but then thought, wouldn`t it be awful if it affected her driving

I think I will stick to oxo lol

The alcohol left would not effect her, none of the dishes would be refused to a child in a restaurant so you know it's safe.

For most cooking practices there wouldn't be any alcohol remaining.
