One day a Pirate and a bartender were talking to each other in a bar. The Bartender asked the pirate "Where did ya get that peg leg from?"

The Pirate responded "We were sailing the seas when a big ol' shark came up to me while I was swimmin' and bit off me leg."

Later the Bartender asked "Where did you get that hook then?"

The pirate responded "Well, me crew and I were in a battle and it got cut through the bone."

The bartender then asked "Then where did ya get the eye patch from?"

The pirate said "In a harbor I looked at a gull flying over head and it took a dump right in me eye."

The bartender was puzzled and asked the pirate, "How would that make you get an eye patch?"

The pirate responded, "First day with the hook."

An elderly couple go to their doctor for a checkup. The man goes in first. "How're you doing?" asks the doctor.

"Pretty good," answers the old man. "I'm eating well, and I'm still in control of my bowels and bladder. In fact, when I get up at night to pee, the good Lord turns the light on for me."

The doctor decides not to comment on that last statement, and goes into the next room to check on the man's wife.

"How're you feeling?" he asks.

"I'm doing well," answers the old woman. "I still have lots of energy and I'm not feeling any pain."

The doctor says, "That's nice. It sounds like you and your husband are both doing well. One thing though - your husband said that when he gets up to pee at night, the good Lord turns the light on for him. Do you have any idea what he means?"

"Oh No," says the woman, "He's peeing in the refrigerator again."

An attractive woman from New York was driving through a remote part of Texas when her car broke down. An American Indian on horseback came along and offered her a ride to a nearby town. She climbed up behind him on the horse and they rode off. The ride was uneventful, except that every few minutes the Indian would let out a Ye-e-e-e ha-a-a-a so loud that it echoed from the surrounding hills. When they arrived in town, he let her off at the local service station, yelled one final Ye-e-e-e ha-a-a-a! and rode off.

What did you do to get that Indian so excited asked the service-station attendant.

Nothing. I merely sat behind him on the horse, put my arms around his waist, and held onto the saddle horn so I wouldn't fall off, the woman answered.

Lady, the attendant said, Indians ride bareback.

An armless man walked into a bar which is empty except for the bartender.

He ordered a drink and when he was served, asked the bartender if he would get the money from his wallet in his pocket, since he has no arms.

The bartender obliged him. He then asked if the bartender would tip the glass to his lips.

The bartender did this until the man finished his drink. He then asked if the bartender would get a hanky from his pocket and wipe the foam from his lips.

The bartender did it and commented it must be very difficult not to have arms and have to ask someone to do nearly everything for him.

The man said, "Yes, it is a bit embarrassing at times.
By the way, where is your restroom?"

The bartender quickly replies -,
"The closest one is in the gas station three blocks down the street."

An old man and a young man worked in office next to each other. The young man had noticed that the older man always seemed to have a jar of peanuts on his desk. The young man loved peanuts.

One day while the older man was away from his desk the young man couldn't resist and went to the old man's jar and ate over half the peanuts.

When the old man returned the young man felt guilty and confessed to taking the peanuts.

The old man responded "That's ok since I lost my teeth all I can do is suck the chocolate off the M&Ms."

A large group of Taliban soldiers are moving down a road when they hear a voice call from behind a sand dune....

"One US soldier is better than ten Taliban"

The Taliban commander quickly sends 10 of his best soldiers over the dune, whereupon a gun-battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes then ssilence. The voice then call out.....

"One US soldier is better than one hundred Taliban"

Furious, the Taliban commander sends his next best 100 troops over the dune, and instantly a huge gunfight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence. The voice calls out again....

"One US soldier is better than one thousand Taliban".

The enraged Taliban commander musters one thousand fighters and sends them across the dune. Cannons, rockets and machine gun fire ring out as a huge battle is fought. Then silence.

Eventually one wounded Taliban fighter crawls back over the dune and with his dying words tells his commander..... "Don't send any more men... it's a trap... there's two of them!"...

A clergyman was walking down the street when he came upon a group of about a dozen boys, all of them between 10 and 12 years of age.

The group surrounded a dog. Concerned lest the boys were hurting the dog, he went over and asked "What are you doing with that dog?"

One of the boys replied, "This dog is just an old neighborhood stray. We all want him, but only one of us can take him home. So we've decided that whichever one of us can tell the biggest lie will get to keep the dog."

Of course, the reverend was taken aback. "You boys shouldn't be having a contest telling lies!" he exclaimed. He then launched into a ten minute sermon against lying, beginning, "Don't you boys know it's a sin to lie," and ending with, "Why, when I was your age, I never told a lie."

There was dead silence for about a minute. Just as the reverend was beginning to think he'd gotten through to them, the smallest boy gave a deep sigh and said, "All right, give him the dog."

Goods morning. Gloomy day here but there is sunshine in my heart and in my pups eyes so life is good. hearts

Haroula, hope you have something fun planned today.

Sue, isn't there someplace in your campground you can take the dogs swimming? Mine can't run in the heat without taking a dip in the water either so we hike along the river in the summer. Stay cool!

Gerry, have a great day!

Gail, I do have a project but it's an Ipad one and not an IHOG so I am learning as I go along. I'm out of my comfort zone. lol
Are the kids enjoying their summer break?

Connie, I will only swim above 90 degrees (I run cold lol ) so if it's hot I'll be there! My daughter is in KeyWest on her honeymoon and they have been enjoying your Florida sunshine.

SpaceQ, anything fun planned today?

soot, hope the rain stops so you can enjoy the outdoors. I am glad you are having a nice break.

Off to Insanity in an hour and then to the river with the dogs.
My BIL blacked out this morning while getting dressed to go golfing with hubby. I think the stress of not being able to find a job is getting to him. Hubby went golfing alone, he blamed me for not learning to golf so I can go with him. I told him I'd go mini golfing or Top Golf but he just stared at me like I was an alien. lol

Have a wonderful day!

Super Sunday ya'll puppy

I have been up for hours and hours, but got sidetracked in the kitchen and just made it down to the den. However, everyone has had grits, sausage, eggs, and smoothie. The kitchen is clean and the dogs are fed. I need to plan tomorrow's menu but first wanted to come on down and say "hi."

Son is off to work, the boys are playing, and Soot has gone to get groceries. When I am in cooking mode, I go through a lot of fresh stuff. lol

Ana, last night's soup was Mexican Tomato Soup. You char the tomatoes before blending them. It was yummy, and took about an hour. I think next time I'll add some corn and some black beans as I like more "stuff" in my soup when it is the main dish.

We have tried the soups in the Vitamix and so far they've all been super yummy! But they don't make enough for when when the boys are here. I was impressed as I didn't think the boys would eat last night's soup, but they did.

I looked up a recipe for sprouted bread awhile back, but it looked very involved. So, before I tried it, I bought some. I liked the taste but my tummy did not like it. I love to make bread...nothing like the aroma of fresh baking bread.

Still raining here so no walking for us and no park for the boys. If I had a treadmill I'd toss everyone on that, but as I don't <shrug>

How is your foot? How is Shadow's foot? Is Bil ok? Has he blacked out before?

Joe, I'm gonna rest the rest of the day...or at least until supper time. Will you get any hunting in today?

Haroula, wave

Cailyn, I hope the heat wave breaks for you soon. That kind of weather is so not fun to be out in.

Gerry, have a great day.

Gail, try to stay cool.

Oh Connie, I'm jealous. We lived in the pool all summer...open to close. Kids all swam by age 2. My poor g'sons don't even know how to swim sad

Space, feeling your inner Johnny Depp today?

Soot kissy

Nan, 55...do you have sun?

Apartments again! Fourth of July was major condo fire at one end of our block. Luckily only one smoke inhalation injury and fire confined to the garage. That was fun, made all the news stations and we had firetrucks from every nearby city here along with many ambulances and police. Scary but an awesome sight.

So last night, it was my end of the block at the apartments. TWO firetruck, one ambulance. Firemen went in in FULL combat gear. Wow. Really didn't know what was going on. Ambulance took one patient (walked in), probably a man, but dunno. And it left in a hurry, perhaps burns from a fire in the back somewhere.

Most of the 'tenants' seem to be major drinkers and druggies. Always staggering around in front or down the street. I'm thinking it's either a halfway house that's poorly run, or just a good place to 'flop' where nobody asks questions and all is done in cash.

So whatever it was, the firemen spent about 45 minutes there. Probably will never know. Asked our friendly drunk lady this morning on our walk and she feigned ignorance as usual. Saw no smoke, smelled no smoke, firemen didn't deploy hoses or anything. Weird. Maybe they had a firepit out back and someone fell in. Hard to tell.

Too much action with emergency vehicles for the last few day for me.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Sadly L4l no sun. If I want to drive a few miles and get away from the lake I think I might find the sun. lol Still 55 and cloudy and foggy.

Sorta you take the prize for entertainment yesterday. Never a dull moment there. We had lots of fireworks around here but I know of at least eight that were arrested for illegal ones.

Night Haroula sleep well.

Ana prayers for your BIL!!

Well, dinner is dined, kitchen is cleaned, tomorrow's menu is planned, dogs are fed, pills are taken, and I'm heading up to take a bath.

Son and the boys and his friend and her boys are out watching Despicable Me 2. Soot and I haven't seen the first one yet, so we will wait for the dvd and enjoy the quiet. wave

Nite all. Work in the morning. Been a busy day here. Problems at the Blisses with a major leak upstairs so I couldn't do the laundry there so I brought their laundry home with me and did it all at my apartment and brought it all back, washed, dried, and folded. Now I don't have to worry about the laundry backing up at their house. Tired now. See you all in the morning.
