Arachnidae are spiders and ticks for those of you who don't know and avoid crawlies like the plague but these photos from the US Geological Survey are incredible.

The one of the furry bee looks a lot like a lap dog that just had a bath.
Some of them look like they stepped right out of Alien!
Really fantastic photos and if you follow the link to the USGS website there are beaucoups more.

(Obviously from all the little red dots under 'beaucoups' Spell Check isn't Southern. grin)
