Life's a voyage that's homeward bound.
Herman Melville (1819 - 1891)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A woman gives birth to a baby, and afterwards, the doctor comes in, and he says, "I have to tell you something about your baby."
The woman sits up in bed and says, "What's wrong with my baby, Doctor? What's wrong??"
The doctor says, "Well, now, nothing's wrong, exactly, but your baby is a little bit different. Your baby is a hermaphrodite."
The woman says, "A hermaphrodite.... what's that???"
The doctor says, "Well, it means your baby has the... er... features...of a male and a female."
The woman turns pale. She says, "Oh my god! You mean it has a [blip] AND a brain?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A businessman enters a tavern, sits down at the bar, and orders a double martini on the rocks. After he finishes the drink, he peeks inside his shirt pocket, then he asks the bartender to prepare another double martini.

After he finishes that one, he again peeks inside his shirt pocket and asks the bartender to bring another double martini. The bartender says, "Look, buddy, I'll bring ya' martinis all night long. But you gotta tell me why you look inside your shirt pocket before you order a refill."

The man replies, "I'm peeking at a photo of my wife. When she starts to look good, then I know it's time to go home."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A PETA protester screamed at the woman in a fur coat, "Don't you realize some poor dumb beast suffered so you could have that fur?"
Unfazed, the woman replied, "That's true, but think of what I had to go through! I dated him!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Will I be the first to do this to you?" whispered the new groom to his new bride.

"What a silly question," giggled the girl. "I don't even know what position you want to use yet."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After completing his examination, the doctor took her husband aside. "I don't like the looks of your wife at all."
"Me neither, Doc." Said the husband. "But she's a good cook and the kids seem to like her."
Mildred was a 93 year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband Earl. She decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death.
Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out Earl's old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart since it was so badly broken in the first place.
Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become paralyzed, she called her doctor's office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be. "On a woman," the doctor said, "your heart would be just below your left breast."
Later that night, Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her left knee.
A small tourist hotel was all a buzz about an afternoon wedding where the groom was 95 and the bride was 23. The groom looked pretty feeble and the feeling was that the wedding night might kill him, because his bride was a healthy, vivacious young woman.
But lo and behold, the next morning, the bride came down the main staircase slowly, step by step, hanging onto the banister for dear life. She finally managed to get to the counter of the little shop in the hotel.
The clerk looked really concerned, "Whatever happened to you, honey? You look like you've been wrestling an alligator!"
The bride groaned, hung on to the counter and managed to speak, "Ohhh God! He told me he'd been saving up for 75 years...
I thought he meant his money!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Several years before the Gulf War, a female journalist did a story on gender roles in Kuwait. She noted that there it was customary for women to walk 10 feet behind their husbands.

After the war, she returned to Kuwait and was pleased to observe that now the men walked 10 feet behind their wives. She approached a woman at the airport and asked, "What enabled Kuwaiti women to achieve this role reversal?"

The Kuwaiti woman replied, "Land mines."

Good morning Boomies. welcome

It's that time once again. yes

Time to crawl out of bed if you can. sleep

Have some breakfast & get a fix on your day. happydance

Out the door and you're on your way. cool

Or stay home and do your 'have to's' there.

Brush you teeth and your hair, and then clean house while you're naked and bare. grin

I know, it's redundant. rolleyes

I just like saying it. duh

Have a happy day everyone.

Good morning y'all.

It's been a little while since I have posted on here. Past two weeks have been interesting. First off, I got a splinter in my thumb. Little bitty one. Didn't get it out right away, didn't even know it was there to begin with. Started getting sore and was going to get it out the next day. Next day, looked at it and there was a red streak running all the way past my elbow. So, off to the Urgent Care. Got put on a sulpha drug. 6 Days later I broke out in a rash. Urgent care again. Hives, allergic to sulpha . Never had been before. Now over them. Whew. No more hives please.

Anyway, it got down to 36 here this a.m. Brrr. I'm ready for spring. lol I think I will stay in today and get my treadmill in. Gotta get more exercise in as I went off Lipitor and my cholesterol went up. Gotta get it back down. Then maybe do a little reading and playing.

Everyone have a good day.

Bets

Good morning and afternoon Boomies

Arrived safely in Switzerland, thanks to Nan's Band. Journey was longer than usual because of a lot of traffic jam, but hubby and I were listening to good music (Keith Jarrett: Köln and Paris concert). Weather here in Switzerland cloudy, but still autumnal and not winterly.

Nan: a big kiss and thank you to and for you!!

Bets: glad you are ok again. Please take care! Musicians and splinters in the fingers?!! Yuck!

Ana: did Joe start the fire place early enough for you this morning? That must be cozy indeed, sitting in front of thhe fire place with a cup of tea and a good game.

To all: happy and wonderful day!

Evelyne

Hullo Boomers! Been MIA, I guess...pretty busy with family and been baking up a storm. Enjoying garden treasures that we put up also. Made a cake yesterday using semolina flour. It has organic sugar, pears from a friends ranch and blackberries from our property. Served with a blackberry drizzle and whipped cream. Leaving a large portion in the Diner.... smile Glad you made it home Evelyne. I am still dreaming of your view in Italy. Bets, you poor girl, glad you are feeling better. Hope Doc is doing better as well. I am hoping to do some sketching today so off I go.Happy Gaming everyone!!! wave

Good afternoon all. I worked an early shift this morning, came home and took a short nap. Now I have to do some cleaning but I wanted to stop in and say hello. Our weather here is getting cooler and very windy but there's no snow yet, thank goodness..Ana, think warm. Bets I hope you're feeling better. I was allergic to cypro once. It's an antibiotic. Well after the doctor increased the dose for an infection my allergic reaction turned into hepatitis. That happened years ago. Needless to say I stay away from that antibiotic. Don't ever want to go through that again.

Well, I have to start cleaning my apartment so I'll see you later. I have to go back to work for 5:00.

Midgie hearts

Got up early. Went to Firestone store. 2 1/2 hours later I left with 4 new tires, an alignment, an oil change and 5 sweatshirts plus 3 glass flowers. No, I didn't get all that at Firestone. I walked over to the thrift store to kill some time and found the sweatshirts and flowers for awesome prices. Bonus.

Actually I needed the bonus prices because all the 'tire' stuff cost me 850 bucks! I have sports care tires, low profile, high temp, all weather thingies. Terrible to replace. Got a good deal. Got $180 per tire price on sale for $136. Still a lot. And they weren't the 'best' ones. Oh well. Live and learn when you buy car that NEEDS sport tires.

THEN they did a complimentary check of the whole car and found out my battery is about to die. Ugh. Off to Sears tomorrow for a new battery and I can't find the paperwork for the one I have now. Strange. I'm so good at filing stuff and that is nowhere to be found. I think Sears will have the info on computer. Hope so.

Tired now. Pretty new tires. Ha.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.
