Men have higher body temperatures than women. If your heating goes out in winter, I recommend sleeping next to a man. Men are like portable heaters that snore.
Rita Rudner

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lady on the airplane strikes up a conversation with the fellow sitting in the next seat, "..and where are you going?"
"I'm going to San Francisco to a Unix convention," he replies.
"Eunuchs convention?" she questions. "I didn't know there were that many of you."
A language instructor was explaining to her class that in French, nouns unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine.
"House," in French, is feminine-"la mansion."
"Pencil," in French, is masculine - "le crayon."
One puzzled student asked, "...What gender is computer?..."
The teacher did not know, and the word wasn't in her French dictionary.
So for fun she split the class into two groups appropriately enough, by gender, and asked them to decide whether "computer" should be a masculine or feminine noun.
Both groups were required to give four reasons for their recommendation.
The men's group decided that computers should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computer"), because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic.
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long-term memory for possible later retrieval.
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your pay check on accessories for it.
The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine ("le computer"), because:
1. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on.
2. They have a lot of data but they are still clueless.
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems but half the time they ARE the problem.
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you'd waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.
The women won.
There was a doctor, a civil engineer, and a computer scientist sitting around late one evening, and they got to discussing which was the oldest profession.
The doctor pointed out that according to Biblical tradition, God created Eve from Adam's rib.
This obviously required surgery, so therefore that was the oldest profession in the world.
The engineer countered with an earlier passage in the Bible that stated that God created order from the chaos, and that was most certainly the biggest and best civil engineering example ever, and also proved that his profession was the oldest profession.
The computer scientist leaned back in her chair, and with a sly smile responded, "Yes, but who do you think created the chaos?"
The gigantic computer took up a whole wall, dwarfing the two mathematicians standing before it.
After much flashing and humming a sliver of paper emerged from the vitals of the machine.
One mathematician, after studying it gravely, turned to the other and said with awe, "Do you realise that it would take four hundred ordinary mathematicians a hundred years of calculations to make a mistake this big?"
Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) announced that it is selling advertising space in the error messages that appear in Windows.
Acknowledging for the first time that the average user of their operating system encounters error messages at least several times a day, Microsoft is trying to take financial advantage of the unavoidable opportunity to make an ad impression.
"We estimate that throughout the world at any given moment several million people are getting a 'General Protection Fault' or 'Illegal Operation' warning.
We will be able to generate significant revenue by including a short advertising message along with it," said Microsoft marketing director Nathan Mirror.
He also mentioned that Microsoft is intended to add banner ads into its Blue Screen of Death in the near future.
The Justice Department immediately indicated that they intend to investigate whether Microsoft is gaining an unfair advantage in reaching the public with this advertising by virtue of its semi-monopolistic control over error messages.
Good morning everyboomie. wave
Ok then, I’ve got your quote, your jokes, your coffee, and a few appropriate comments coming up. happydance
The thing I don’t have, at the moment, is a connection to GameBoomers. slapforehead
Been trying to get there for over an hour, but no go.
Usually after I complain loudly, to the wind, and send Ana an email to let her know I can’t connect, then I get on straight away.
Haven’t done that yet.
OH FOR CRYING OUTLOUD!!!! cry
Ok there’s the loud complaining part. Sorry about the shouting!
It’s kinda like taking your car to a mechanic about a problem, and having the car run just fine for the mechanic. slapforehead
Wish me luck & have a happy day everyone.
Goodmorning, Ana, Haroula, Venus.
Gail, at first I didn't know what your surgery was for but now I do. I am so happy and relieved for you! Congratulations! woot penguin yay
Joe, What a wonderful feeling to have your best friend with you. I'm sure you are both very happy. Enjoy yourselves! penguin puppy yay And good luck getting your internet problems fixed quickly. luck
Darlene, good morning! Glad you're feeling better and good skooshing to you!
It's chilly here this morning. I'm going to put on a sweatshirt and some socks and do some much needed cleaning and then take something for my sinus headache and go back to bed.
There are many games to play, mysteries to solve, objects to find and heads to whack. I have to do what I have to do so I can get back to it.
Amazon sent my Doom game yesterday @9:55 AM -oh how better can life get!! Must start checking the mail every morning starting tomorrow so nobody steals it from the mailbox. Oh if that happened there would be a real early 4th of July around here. Anyway after all this hype I darn well better like the game. I've been listening to Nancy Drew game music especially that from "The Haunted Carosel" it's genius music. It embodies fear, ghost-y and beauty. Could a collection of N Drew game music sell? I'd buy it.
Groceries accomplished for 2 weeks aaand put away.
Hey Joe, does Baby ride around with you in your truck? My Malamute, Wuuku waited for me at the gate,jump in the cab and off we'd boogie down these narrow countyr roads and she loved it. When we lived in Austin I'd take her to Wattaburger drive thru and get each of us our lunch. I miss her.
Lovely weather -kinda grey lizard.
Buy a new game everyone
Wonderful Wednesday ya'll puppy
It's going to be a beautiful day in 'Bama. I love fall in the south...all 3 days of it. wink
Daughter is in the midst of splitting up with SO so I am on the recieving end of much drama. I figured something was up as she kept calling the house in the wee hours of the morning. Course, I didn't know she'd called till the next day...no phone in the bedroom.
I feel there is laundry in my future. Other than that, I'm not sure but I am sure something will. puppy
I have the day off today. Got my laundry done, cleaned my apartment, and just relaxing now, watching NCIS reruns. I saw the cutest, littlest, puppy today. He weighed a huge two pounds. What a cutie. Ana I hope your day is awesome.
Good afternoon boomies! I have had a nonstop day so far. Sorry I did not make it here this morning.
The storms moving in create havoc on my head and I woke with day two of migraines. I went to Zumba anyways and it helped except when you leap in the air. The landings definitely did not help a bit. lol
When I got out it was sunny and there was lightning in the clouds. Very cool!
Someone ran down streetlight two doors down from me while I was at the club and it landed right across the school driveway entrance. My entire subdivision is 20 mph so I can't imagine how fast that person was going in a school zone to knock over the lamp.
I then went to the park with the dogs and walked three miles and then mowed up all the leaves for the third time in a week. Now I am in laundry land, showered and going to game till it's time to cook.
Gerry and Sue, I hope you are both well. hearts
Haroula and Venus, I hope your day was great!
Gail, life is indeed good! woot I am smiling with you.
Joe, I am so happy Baby is with you for a week. puppy Good luck on your head hunting.
Darlene, glad you are feeling better! When does daughter move?
Sharon, hope you shook off your headache.
Yankee, I hope your game came today and it's everything you are anticipating it to be!
L4L, I am sorry to hear the relationship didn't work for your daughter. There will be a soul mate out there for her when she least expects it.
Nan, have fun out tonight!
Midgie, you finally have a day off! Enjoy! yay
Off to find a good game to play....
Good Evening Boomers
Darlene, hope your day was good.
Sharon, thanks, hope your headache went away.
Yankee, hope your game arrives soon.
L4L, ahh, kids never not need their Moms. Come to think of it they don't ever grow up.
Nan, wishing you a good taxi night.
Midgie, enjoy your day off.
Haroula, sweet dreams.
Ana, there's never a dull moment in your life. Glad the streetlight didn't hurt anybody.
Space, have a good night.
Super is over. Kitchen is cleaned up, I'm off to do some more catching up on my games. (which is not going to happen too quickly cause I've been averaging buying them faster than I can play them.)
Well, I never made it to gaming but plan on it as soon as I finish posting and folding laundry.
Peter said a lady hit the the pole right after I left this morning because he was leaving to go to work five minutes after me and there were 6 cop cars surrounding a lady in a car by the downed pole. oops lol
SpaceQ, have a nice evening.
Gail, have fun gaming!
