"The years teach much which the days never know."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As they stopped at a cheese farm, a young guide led them through the process of cheese making, explaining that goats milk was used.
She showed the group a lovely hillside where many goats were grazing.
"These", she explained, "are the older goats put out to pasture when they no longer produce."
She then asked, "What do you do in America with your old goats?"
A spry old gentleman answered, "They send us on bus tours."
A woman went to the doctor's office and was seen by one of the new young doctors. After about four minutes in the examination room, she started screaming and ran down the hall. An older doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was, and she told him her story. After listening, he told her to sit down and relax in another room. The older doctor marched down the hallway to the back where the first doctor was and demanded, "What's the matter with you? Mrs. Terry is 63 years old, she has four grown children and seven grandchildren, and you told her she was pregnant?"
The new doctor continued to write on his clipboard and, without looking up, said, "Does she still have the hiccups?"
An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating,the wives left the table and went into the kitchen. The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.'
The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?'
The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know... The one that's red and has thorns.'
'Do you mean a rose?'
'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?
An elderly couple who were childhood sweethearts had married & settled down in their old neighborhood.
To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary they walk down to their old school. There, they hold hands as they find the desk they shared & where he had carved "I love you, Sally".
On their way back home, a bag of money falls out of an armoured car practically at their feet. She quickly picks it up, & they don't know what to do with it so they take it home. There, she counts the money, & its fifty-thousand dollars.
The husband says: "We've got to give it back".
She says, "Finders keepers" & puts the money back in the bag & hides it up in their attic.
The next day, two FBI men are going from door-to-door in the neighbourhood looking for the money show up at their home.
One knocks on the door & says: "Pardon me, but did either of you find any money that fell out of an armoured car yesterday?"
She says: "No"..
The husband says: "She's lying. She hid it up in the attic."
She says: "Don't believe him, he's getting senile."
But the agents sit the man down & begin to question him.
One says: "Tell us the story from the beginning."
The old man says: "Well, when Sally & I were walking home from school yesterday ..."
At this, the FBI guy looks at his partner & says: "We're outta here .."
Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: "John, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?"
John says, "I feel just like a newborn baby."
"Really!? Like a newborn baby!?"
"Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just pooped my pants."
Good morning everyboomie.
Is it the day before tomorrow, or the day after yesterday?? duh
I guess that depends on whether I'm looking forward or backward. rolleyes
I think normally we all tend to look longingly backwards to the last weekend, until about Hump Day, and then start to turn our gaze forward with anticipation toward the next weekend.
I don't know whether to look forward or backwards, so I'm just going to call it.................today. idea
Good morning. I have an early shift this morning. I've been up since 4:30. Couldn't sleep this morning. So I decided to get up and have a cuppa tea and see who's in the diner already. Hi guys. wave Thanks Joe for your openers. Morning SQFan, Ana kissy, Haroula, Sue, Karen, Gerry, Gail when you come in, and everyone who comes in after me. Well, I put a hold on the apartment I want, last night. I'm gonna take Rob over this weekend to show him. I guess I just need his take on it. I still love it though. Oh, and there's a workout room in the same building. I think he'll like it. Everything will fit in that apartment just fine. It's almost as large as what I have now. My stomach is beginning to get nervous. I need a calmitall from someone. I'll be glad when I'm all moved in.
Have a great Saturday everyone.
Midgie hearts
Good morning everyone. A trip to the grocery store is in the cards for today. We're out of milk. Gail, I'm just about done Christmas shopping, as I do it all year. Midge, good luck with your new apartment, and I know you will enjoy the exercise room. To all here and all who follow, have a Wonderful Saturday. Good morning Joe and all Gameboomers!
Soot -- Thanks for the wish for a productive day. I hope I have one as well. 80F sounds wonderful. I should be happy with my current 48F but I really like it when it's warm...
Hope the coffee is working, Looney.
Good Saturday morning and afternoon and evening!
I'am sooooo excited! One of the most important Pottery Sites on the net did a Calendar 2013 contest and woot I was one of the winners! My ceramics object "Chi&Naa" was chosen for the June 2013 calendar sheet. You can view the calendar - E. Schoenmann, that's me blush
Click here to view.
Ana: my car was 12 years old but I loved it like a pet. Good thing is that I know the people who bought it and they are nice and caring. How is your head doing today? I'am sending a tender hug to you kissy
Nan: I enjoyed the new wheels all right wink
Midge: I hope that you will be happy and pleased with your new apartment. Fingers crossed it's the right one!
We turned back the clock already 1 week ago. Why is it that every country has their own clockwork? We could do it all together at the same time! With a big clockturner-party.
I wish you all a wonderful day and don't forget: keep smiling grin
Love!
Evelyne
Congratulations Midge and Evelyn. 2013 is going to be an outstanding year for you -and for the rest of us too.
Now, new cars: My little s-10 is 18 years old and never had trouble except for 1 bad part right after I bought it -which was easy to fix. Other than that nothing ever wrong. I think she's a girl and she has taken me to work nights for almost 4 years and then various day jobs, she's done extra duty during family emergencies and you all know all the animals I rescued and she brought them home here etc. I understand now why people just drive the old car out into the back pasture and let it return to the earth. I'm getting emotional uh. I know one of these days there will be something new sitting in the driveway but still......
Oh joy an extra hour to sleep
Remember those tomato seeds I planted? Well, there's 17 ofem now and today I will devide them and plant them into small pots. They will be my winter project -get them growing and through winter. Home grown tomatos -maybe.
Yeah teeth feel so nice and clean and sparkly and no new cavities -of course crowns and implants don't decay. Anyway I'm proud of my New York State teeth.
Hi Karen -you sound good
Happy extra hour all
Good afternoon boomies. My internet is a joke today and I'm getting a bit weary of it. My mail hasn't gone out in hours and I can start a post but then it doesn't let me submit. Comcast needs to stop ruining my weekend internet.
Anyways, I just came back from a late park run with the dogs and hubby is taking me out to dinner. yay I hope you all are enjoying the day!
Trippy, I haven't seen you in awhile. I hope you are feeling better. hearts
Nan, I hope all is well by you too!
Comcast won't answer that question, because there is either a outage or not as far as they are concerned. They can send someone out, but if I call on a weekend and they send someone out during the week they charge you for the call if there is nothing wrong. I am certain they are doing some repairs on the weekends because come 8Pm on every Friday we slow to a crawl.
Well now that I'm home from work I started to pack but I got to watching too Cute about brand new puppies. Couldn't tear myself away. Those puppies were way too cute. Warmed my heart. So tomorrow between work shifts I have to pack boxes or Rob will read me the riot act as he is storing my belongings in his cellar. Boy I really don't want to go through this again but I have to.
I've been up since 4:30 this morning so my energy went to bed a while ago. Saying good night now. See you in the AM.
