I've been replaying GK2 The Beast Within and my saved game count is climbing. I have tried selecting a new saved game directory, but each time I get the message that it is an invalid directory. I've created the empty directory ahead of time, and tried to put it in the C:\ directory or in the same directory as the install, but the game can't seem to find it in either case. I've also used a short DOS name like GK2SAV3, but that doesn't work either.

I've had to deal with this once before, but I think I just copied out all of the old saved games into another directory for safe keeping...it would be much better to just point to another directory, as the game designers intended. The game is from GOG, and I'm running in Win7 64 bit.

I point, therefore I click.

The procedure GOG uses to allow the game to play in 64-bit Windows 7 probably isolates the game from the rest of the computer. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to play the game (which is 16-bit) in a 64-bit operating system. The game probably can't see your file system the way you do, so it can't see your new save folder.

You might be able to create a subfolder for saves inside the current folder where the saves are being held. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to do as you did before, and copy the current saves somewhere else.

Maybe someone else knows a better way, but I don't.

Thank you very much, Jenny100...that did the trick. I created the subdirectory in the same directory as the current save files, but when I typed in the path to the new directory I gave" it as C:\(subdir name)", which was not the actual path but the game seemed OK with that.

Thanks again!
