I can't get thru to Peter's Email (Two of them.)

Gmail says 'Could not perform because Default Mail Client is not properly installed.'

FireFox says 'Did not Match any documents'

I copy them (with the C-V) from him to make sure they are right. He has no problems getting to my Email. ???

Here are some instructions for how to set up an email client for gmail
http://lifehacker.com/5814342/how-to-set-up-gmail-with-a-desktop-mail-client

If you want to use webmail and access your mail through a web browser, you first go to
https://accounts.google.com
or
mail.google.com
This should forward you to a webpage with boxes for you to enter your email address and password. If you have webpage forwarding disabled in Firefox, it may not work.

Jenny, I took a look at those places and they don't have anything about this problem.

I have no problems with my Email on any other site, both work just fine. For some reason neither one will accept any of Peter's address. His mails to me come thru. He said it's OK to keep using My Place.

When I go to Mulawa Dreaming, everything works except his ' Email Peter' spot. AAAAGGGGGGHHH

Maybe I don't understand the problem. I thought you weren't able to send email to Peter using your gmail account. But now you're saying your email works fine and the only thing that doesn't work is the direct link on Peter's website that's supposed to open your email client and fill in the subject line for you. The link won't work if you use web-based email. It's only for email clients.

Since you've got Peter's email address from his emails to you, it's easiest just to use that than figure out what antivirus setting may be blocking the script on Peter's website that would open your email client for you.

Sounds like you're not using an email client -- maybe you're using a type of webmail instead?

Sounds like you put the mailto: address in the Address bar of the web browser. That won't work.

Can you give me an example of these other sites with email links that work for you? Maybe I can check whether they're constructed differently from the one on Peter's site.

OK. GB of course, Amazon. Boca Java, Walgreens,
Peter's Kiosk, Insurence Co., Two different Banks, Car dealer, many shoping sites. my Son,...

Is that what you wanted?

By the way, is there a place I can get a #7 book that gives the info on using this dratted thing? Did not get one when I bought it, and my brain is getting more empty every day. Docter says that often happens after a so called (Little)! heart attact.

I don't know what the email links look like for any of those places except Gameboomers. If I look at the properties of an email link in a Gameboomers member profile, I get something like
mailto:examplexyz@gmail.com

But if I go to the mulawa.net website and look at the Properties for the "e-mail Peter" link, I get something like
mailto:xyz@mulawa.net?subject=from%20the%20Mulawa%20Dreaming%20homepage
(I'm changing the first part of the email link to hopefully confuse any robots that are set to look for addresses to spam.)

But you can see the difference between the Gameboomers link, which is a simple mailto: email link, and the "e-mail Peter" link, which has all that ?subject=from%20the%20Mulawa%20Dreaming%20homepage
on the end that may be confusing your browser.

I haven't seen it in person, but this book is supposed to be an introductory book, has nice color pictures and reviews are pretty positive
http://www.amazon.com/Windows-7-Simplified-Paul-McFedries/dp/0470503874/qid=1357262789

It would be best if you could look at books in person to see how well they cover the subjects you need. But at least Amazon gives you a preview of the Index in this particular book.

Thank you, Jenny. Amazon has dozens and dozens of #7 books. I got a Old People kind. large size,, large print, over 200 pages with large pictures to go with each text.
