I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti graphics card using driver version "9.18.13.3165" and lately, although I haven't experienced any difficulties, I've been getting brief messages from Nvidia telling me I need to update my driver.

If I did (once I found out how !!) would there be a negative impact on games I already have in play ??

Thanks in advance for any help yes

If the drivers don't include any new functionality that you need, why change them?
The drivers you have are working.
If you "updated" them, the new drivers might not work -- at least not with all your games.
Nvidia doesn't care about older games -- especially older adventure games.
They're not going to bother testing their drivers on games like that.

You're supposed to be able to disable the update nags in the "Nvidia update control panel".

If you want to try updating the driver, and it doesn't work out, you can try the driver rollback

I always keep my Nvidia drivers updated. I am able to play all my old games as well as my new games. I have no idea why, but I kept putting off a driver update last spring and started getting BSODs now and then. When I went into my event viewer, each BSOD event mentioned Nvidia. I updated the driver and the BSODs stopped.

But I agree with Jenny - if your current drivers are working, there is really no reason to update them. You could always go ahead and do it and then rollback later.

Guess it's kind of up to you!

The release notes for driver version 385.69 are here
http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/385.69/385.69-win10-win8-win7-desktop-release-notes.pdf

I found that link by going to
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/123934/en-us
searching for your card and Windows 7 x64 and looking under the "additional information" section.

You can go through that "release notes" file and see if there's anything that might affect your games.
