Hi, I am replaying Gray Matter. What is the best screen resolution for this? I always have about 2 inches of black at the top and bottom of my screen no matter what I change the resolution to.

Thanks in advance,

Doreen

Hi Doreen, I have moved your post over to Glitches, being as you are asking a technical question rather than a gameplay-related one. wave

If you have a full screen monitor (not widescreen) look for 1024x768 or 1280x1024 or 1600x1200.

Are you changing resolution in the game menu or in Windows desktop?
DirectX will change whatever the Windows desktop is set to to what the game is set for.

It's possible some download versions of the game don't offer a choice between full screen and widescreen. But there are full screen images at Mobygames, so if you have a disc version you should be able to get a full screen picture.

Thank you Jenny100, I tried those different resolutions, but none worked, so I am just playing the game anyway --- you don't notice the edges after a while.

In the game options?
As I said before, changing your desktop resolution will have no effect.

There might be "per game" options in your video driver settings, depending on what video card you have. But if you have a version of the game that only offers widescreen resolutions, you're stuck with the black bars top and bottom.

I recently read about this program. I haven't tried it myself, but reviews are positive.
