We have an e-mail account through Microsoft on our outlook account and have used it for a very long time. This a.m. we got a message saying we have click on the link provided or our account will be emptied and closed within 24 hrs. This is for security reasons. I have not accessed the link sent. Does anyone know if it is possible this is a legitimate message from Microsoft? I have had similar messages in the past and never accessed the link they send. Thank you for your opinion...

It's a scam.
Google the message and you find many similar scams with accounts at various companies being the target.

Who knows what malware will install if you click that link.

There are lots of phishing emails like this.

Here's a link to a question about a similar phish that someone posted at Microsoft forums
