Today I finished another of EnterTheStory's little games and it's another I can honestly recommend thumbsup

Practically the same type of interface as was used in The Count of Monte Cristo and again, considering what a long story A Tale of Two Cities is, the essence of the story has been preserved yes

I think I will try his "Les Miserables" next grin

HI, I have a question, I haven't read these books, would these games be enjoyable to someone who hasn't read them, I am always looking for books to read, what kind are they? Mystery? I have been tempted to try the games, but wondering if I should read the books first, what do you think?
My mom is Legally blind and call and read to her daily, wondering if she may like the books? I know some people read these in HS, but I was an air-force brat, and moved every 2 years or more, you would be amazed how different curriculum is for the different schools (although I think this has gotten better)
just wondering if the games can be played and enjoyed without reading the books first, or if they would be more enjoyable and easier to do the puzzles if I have read them first?
thanks smile

You can do both, HeavenlyJoy, with the Count of Monte Cristo. Enter the Story's developer says he's included a copy of the book with the game. I can tell you that, for me, Monte Cristo was a whacking great read.

Of course, it all depends on whether or not you like reading on your computer instead of having a book in your hands.

Heavenly Joy --

You don't need to read the books in order to enjoy the games. In terms of the Enter the Story games, I would recommend starting with either A Tale of Two Cities or the Count of Monte Cristo (the more recent games) and then probably Les Miserables. The story in Les Miserables is excellent, but since it is the first game in the series, the gameplay isn't as varied as in the later games.

If you are also thinking of reading one of these books to supplement the game experience, those three would be the best to read also.

Dante's Divine Comedy (the epic poem/book) is not like the three novels mentioned above -- it's quite a difficult read -- especially once you get to Paradiso, where Heaven becomes (forgive me Dante) a really long slog. The game is much more fun than the book in this case.

Mad -- that's great that you're enjoying the Enter the Story series! wave
