Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father

I'm a long time lurker 1st time poster and for some some strange reason I got it in my head to do a video review of Gabriel Knight Sins of the Father. So I have done just that and I thought I would post it here and see what other people think.

This is my first time doing a review and YouTube has a 10 min limit so there are a few things I kind of didn't have time for as I was waffling on so much at the beginning. I really enjoyed the experience of making this, witch I really only did as a way to learn how a video edit application works. So I have made a YouTube channel called AdventureReviews. Feel free to comment, bad or good. Though I suspect if I receive some encouragement I may do more.,, and assume I will get better at it. I set up the channel as if I would but I have no current plans to do another one... for now.

Anyway... hope you like it.

I just watched this, and I thought it was outstanding! Very good commentary and overview of the game. I hope to see more of these reviews from you; I would certainly be interested in watching them.

This is also an excellent introduction to the game for anyone who has not yet played it. thumbsup

Just as an aside, I live where this Sierra game was made, and I have a special fondness for 1990s Sierra adventures. My neighbor was the character model for the hero in the Quest for Glory series. But I digress. smile

welcome to GameBoomers and thanks for the review. wave

Interesting concept!

I've heard a lot about this game, and I think I have it, but I've never played it.

After the info about the hard puzzles, I'll have to wait until I'm in a brain cell burning mood wave

Wow! I've just watched & what a great way to do a review! You can see what the graphics are like, you gave a good description of what the game was about, the focus on gameplay & the balance of dialogue to puzzles etc thumbsup I hope you don't mind me saying but there was at least one quite difficult timed puzzle which wasn't mentioned but otherwise I thought it was excellent! It also reminded me of how much I loved the music in the game! yay

Very good review. The trouble is you are now compelled to do more of these.

Thanks for you feedback guys. I found it very encouraging.

I have been thinking after reading your posts that I will do another one. Though I have no time frame or anything so do not expect one soon. If I do one it will most likely be for Under a Killing Moon, The Dig or GK2.. as those are the games currently in my "to play" list and installed and everything. I might do The Dig as it will give me a chance to be slightly critical rather than the fawning love feast that was the GK1 review.

Thanks .. I'll maybe do another one I am not sure. I would like to though

Not at all.. feedback is why I posted here.. positive is great but the negative can in the long run be more helpful, as if you do not know you have done something wrong.. well you can not avoid it next time. Still on that point I had a very hard time trying to work out exactly what I could show and what I could not. I didn't want to show everything in the game so there was some surprises for the player still.
