Dracula Resurrection - stuck in the Library

Hi, I am in the beginning of the game and have gone through the well, took the light but cannot find a cursor to get the grappling hook from any dark corners?

Hi Linda,

Around by the side of the staircase you should find a darkened section of wall with an alcove. About eye level you will see a hook for your lamp to hang - place the lamp on this, and you'll be able to see the items you need on the ground.

Ok, you mean at the top of the stairs? I did find that alcove and about eye level I did see a hook but I am not getting the "gears" to use the lamp - I did try that

I will try again if that is what you are referring to but I have been in that alcove a few times. Maybe I need to pan the bottom too, I haven't tried that because I thought the grappling hook was at the base of the stairs.

**edited: Ok, my bad, I had to go downstais but this last attempt finally brought up the magnifying glass and I did get the hook! Your hint about "eye level" really paid off. Many thanks again Rushes!

No, at the bottom of the stairs and around a little to the right (I think). The hook will be eye-level to your left as you face the wall.

Stuck again, this time in the Library in the castle.
Found the letter from Dracula, and the box that won't stay open... over in the corner found the box to put the opal in but no ray on desk and when I click on the desk's hotspot it opens/shuts right away and the desk is not opening

I have checked both w/t and cannot see what I could be missing please?

Did you pull the lever on the top shelf I think right side in the library?

Nope - the lever I pulled was on the ladder

**edit: looked and found more w/t's and realized I must climb the ladder again and this time the mechanism stays open and sheds some light on the desk.

Glad you got it. It's been so long I can't remember the nuances.

If I can jump into this 'thread' instead of starting my own = I am in the cellar area to the left of that desk with the lamp on it in the mine car/track area and have ridden the car once and thought I crashed it, found the switch handle and switched the track but now cannot find my way back to my 'car' to take another ride - please point me to my 'transportation' and thank you, sorry to bother you on this 3 day holiday, we just came back from our weekend 'outing' shopping at Goodwill and what fun!

Hi Betty Lou,

You're in the right area. With your back to the table, move forward towards the large wooden scaffolding ahead of you in the main area of the room. To the right of the scaffolding you will see the rail track and mine cart ready and waiting. Have fun! The graphics in the next sequence are great.

Thanks Rushes, I am quite pleasantly surprised and somewhat amazed that the graphics of this old WIN98 game remade and playing on XP are so great - I am enjoying this one yet again (have played it 3 or 4 times in the past) and had forgotten how easily I get turned around and cannot find the right 'path' or the 'hotspot' but am looking forward to playing Last Sanctuary again too before jumping into Dracula3....oh what fun we have!

I've played this game many times, too, I never get tired of it. Enjoy the rest of the game.

I'm stuck again or maybe I just can't find the right 'hotspot'. I have been to the Library in the Castle, lit up the carved desk and took the plaque, dragon-medal, key and crossincircle. Have talked to Dorko again and returned to Dracula's bedroom. I cannot seem to place the 'crystal ball' onto that pedestal...is this the red ball in my inventory? I don't have anything else shaped like a ball - have I missed something? Thanks

You should be able to speak to Dorko about the crystal ball - she will then take the red ball from you and transform it so that you can use it on the pedestal.

Have you examined Dracula's bedroom thoroughly?

Yes, I thought I did a thorough exam of Dracula's bedroom. Will go back and try to talk to Draco again and see if red ball is in my 'ask about' list on the right side of my screen...I'll get back to you later and thanks

Thanks TLC. Apparently when I talked to Draco about the medal etc I neglected to see at the top of my 'dialogue' list that red ball (too dark a color?) and missed it, am now on my way again. Thanks for the help. Hope you all are having a great weekend.
