Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/12/08 03:57 AM

cigar,

You can not jump to - to a place. You have to go from one circle to another circle until you get to where you want to go.
The places you can go to have an eye icon. Once you land at that spot, click again to enter that place.
If you already read the order to go to the ATM machine, then you should see an eye icon on that place in the map.

Hi cigar,

Don't forget to use the Edit button if you want to add something to a post you've just made, rather than stacking your posts. Thanks. smile

Did you manage to kill those bees? It's an optional way to get money - you might be able to earn/find money another way, so I wouldn't worry about the bees too much.

I'm not sure if I should post this here but,I am stuck right after getting the card out of the puzzle box.The walkthrough says go check out the office and then go to bed. When you wake up the PDA should go off and then you run out to the balcony.Well my PDA is not going off.I checked to make sure I did everything up to this point and I can't figure out what I missed.Anyone else have this problem?

Hi cigar, I'm not at my computer right now, but I can send you a save later today, unless anyone else can jump in and help you meanwhile.

Hi brajki, I think that means you've missed doing something elsewhere. If you're playing Junior level, double check your task list, that might help you work out what it is. luck

Hi, everyone!

I picked the lock to Fango's office door but, when I went inside, he was there and I was uncerimoniously escorted out of the country. Is there something I need to do to get him out of the office?

Thanks.

Susan
Posted By: Magwitch

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/15/08 05:16 PM

Hey Susan,

You don't do anything to get him out of his office. He comes and goes on his own. If he is in his office, that means you should be across the street on the balcony of the place you are staying watching him with binoculars. Only break in when he's not there (as you found out!).
Posted By: Susie07

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/15/08 05:23 PM

Hi, Magwitch!

Well, duh, why didn't I think of that lol ? Of course I should be checking his office from the roof. I guess I'll have to find something else to do until he leaves.

Thanks!

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/15/08 07:51 PM

Hi, everyone!

Okay, I give up. What's the trigger to get Fango out of his office? I've exhausted all conversation topics with Colin, my roommate and the lady sunbathing on the roof. I've won the dance contest. I've purchased everything available at the magazine stand. I've purchased birdseed but haven't run into any birds. I think I've hit a roadblock until Fango leaves his office, but he doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Thanks!

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/15/08 08:05 PM

Susie,

Did you go up to the roof of the place Nancy is staying at and use the binoculors looking at Fango's office? wave
Posted By: Rushes

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/15/08 09:13 PM

Hi Susie,

When you looked out towards Fango's office with your binoculars, did you see Fango taking something from a pigeon sitting on the windowsill?

If so, then call Sophia to report this, and she will give you a mission. Once you've completed this mission you'll be able to enter Fango's office. luck
Posted By: Susie07

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/15/08 10:17 PM

Hi, TLC and Rushes!

TLC, yes, I've used the binoculars several times to spy on Fango's office because I'm waiting for him to leave so I can pick the lock, and he's always there.

Rushes, I haven't seen Fango take anything from a pigeon. Every time I look through the binoculars into his office window, he's just sitting in a chair at his desk.

Susie,

How far are you in the game?
Is the owner of the Ca where you living still on the roof sunbathing?

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/16/08 12:43 AM

Hi, misslilo and TLC!

misslilo, yes she's still there. She left long enough for me to read her note, but now she's back.

I'm not too far into the game. I've gotten the tracker and binoculars, passed the dance audition, been poisoned by tainted sausages and have purchased all of the magazines that were available in the bookstore (German dictionary, Sassy Detective and one other magazine). I picked the lock to Fango's office before I realized that I should have checked first to make sure he wasn't there. Unfortunately, he won't leave.

TLC, I'll keep watching Fango because I can't find anything else to do in the meantime <G>!

I did this forever and faster after I memorized a sequence that works.
Try as soon as possible to:
Click 2 down clockwise twice.

Click 1 up counterclockwise 5 times.

Click 3 down clockwise 3 times.

Click 5 up counterclockwise 4 times only.

Click 4 down clockwise twice only.

Click 5 up counterclockwise once.

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/16/08 02:09 AM

So I'm trying to steal the sapphire. I'm doing okay getting around the little laser guys but I don't understand how to shut down the beams protecting the sapphire.

I've gotten to two of the panels with the lightning bolts at the top and they all have white shutters over them with levers at the bottom. When I pull the levers, I hear something happen but nothing visual changes. When I go back to the sapphire, nothing has changed there, either. The walkthrough says to pull the levers to cover the rods with the shutters but they are already shuttered. What am I missing?

Edit: Never mind. I figured it out. Somehow, I always do right after I post!! lol

Hi, everyone!

I guess I wasn't patient enough because Fango finally left his office and I was able to pick the lock, feed the tracking device to the pigeon and decode the message.

I decided to try dancing to make a little extra money, but Nancy keeps saying she can't dance without her costume. Thing is ... she's wearing it! Has anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks so much. Compared to that huge yellow hat, the ears are so small I completely missed them at the bottom of the screen.

I could have saved myself the trouble, though, because I was booed off the stage so many times, I finally gave up! I'm now wondering how I managed to pass the dance audition in the first place <VBG>.

Hi, Rushes!

I haven't checked the bees lately but, the last time I was up on the roof (why do I feel a song coming on <VBG>?), I didn't get a hot spot when I clicked on them.

Thanks for the "good luck" with the sapphire. I have a feeling I'm gonna need it.

Susan

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/16/08 07:45 PM

Maybe that's because you already have some flowers in your inventory? Until you get rid of those, new flowers won't grow in your soil patch.
Posted By: Susie07

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/17/08 02:34 AM

Hi, Rushes!

I discovered that you don't get a hot spot for the flowers on the roof until you read the sign in the market that says they will buy them.

I have now run into several roadblocks. It seems as though I need some smoke to get rid of the bees so I can pick the flowers. At Zattere, there is no hot spot on the keypad so I can get the gate open (not that I have a clue what the combination is <G>). At Campo Santa Margherita, I need the combination for the propane tank and don't have a clue where to find it. Finally, where might I find the elusive Gina?

Thanks for your help.

Susan

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/17/08 03:03 AM

Smokes - You will find what you need at Rialto Market - not smokes though.

Zattere - The keypad will be activated after you get items from Gina.

Gina - remember the chess game on Fango's laptop.

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/18/08 02:27 AM

Hi, MaG!

I made $90 selling flowers, but the bees are harder to kill each time so I think I'll give it a rest for awhile to save my blood pressure <G>!

I made it inside the gates at Zattere, but now I'm stuck in the maze. I know I'm supposed to deactivate the lasers, but I can't find them or the sapphire and I've been zapped by the robots so many times I feel like a block of Swiss cheese <G>! I wonder if these robots are related to the security probes who guarded GRS in UAKM.

Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

There are 9 rooms (3 in a row).
You came through the top middle one.
The Lasers are at the 4 corners of the warehouse. They are marked with red electric symbol.
The sapphire is at the very center. middle center of the warehouse. luck

Hi Diane,

You might or might not get to see the sausages, depending upon whether you visit your room back at the Ca at the appropriate time early in the game. It doesn't affect game progress one way or the other, so don't worry about it if you haven't seen them. smile

I'm back! I'm in the warehouse and cat woman touched something and about 8 boxes looked like candy. also I saw a zigzag more towards the middle and cat woman ran over there and now I have a screen that has 8 bars and I can shutter the two on the right as you face the screen. none of the others cooperate even using the walkthrough. when I touch a completed shuttered rod and then touch another to close the shutters on it, the first one becomes open again. Any ideas?
Posted By: Rushes

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/19/08 12:11 AM

Hi maxcat,

You have to find the right sequence for the rods.

Find the first rod that stays down when you click on it. Then look for the second rod, that will stay down along with the first. Trial and error until you strike lucky. Then with those two rods down, look for the third, fourth, etc. If you make an error, all rods will release and you will have to start over, repeating the sequence you know to be correct so far and then looking for the next rod in the sequence. It's a memory test.

Once all the rods are down then the puzzle is complete for that symbol.

The places the agents state that are seen on the left are the places where they will be hiding.
Then you will see them pop out of those palces for a split second.
Any other place that you see a shadow would be Nico. Immediately click on that shadow.
The agents will try to go to him 3 times before the police will finally catch him.
If you can't remember the places, the wt has a picture with labels of the locations.

Diane,
Yes, click on the circle that shows the icon of the sound you ehard. You do not need to click again unless Nancy stops dancing. Then when you hear the next sound - immediately click on the appropriate icon. Review the sounds so that you can master it. luck

I FINALLY passed the dance audition! But now I'm trying to get the sapphire. I have disabled one of the lasers, but the robots keep zapping me so I can't get out of the room to disable another one! This is one tough puzzle...but a great game! smile

Well, I managed to get to one exit, but it led into a room I had already been into. There is another exit, and that's where I'm trying to go, but I keep getting zapped by the robots! I know it's just going to take time and dumb luck! <g>

Hi Diane,

If the robots keep getting you, try an alternative route to the exit. Watch the robots' movement patterns closely, they are repetitive. Plan ahead. luck

Sending it across to you now. wave

Hi, MaG!

The last time I tried, I found Nico's hiding spot twice and alerted the agents, but they let him get away. Is there a time limit or do I need to find him 3 times in a row confused ?

Hi, Diane wave ! When you manage to steal the sapphire, you've got the stakeout to look forward to, and I'll probably still be here laugh .

Hi Susie,

You need to find Nico 3 times, although I'm not sure if it's 3 times in a row or if the game is forgiving and allows 3 times in total. You'll find out the next time you catch him! Good luck.

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/25/08 07:42 PM

Hi, Rushes (and MaG)!

The cops FINALLY nabbed Nico, but I'm almost positive I had to identify his hiding place 4 times before that happened. I now have a key and I think I came across a door that rattles, so it's off to the travel map for me.

Thanks to you both for your help!

Thanks, Rushes...

I'm getting the hang of it, but I'm not out of the woods, er, the laser rooms, yet. smile I've disabled three of the lasers, but am having a heck of a time getting to the 4th. I'll keep at it, though...I'll be darned if I'm gonna let these robots get the best of me! <grrr>

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/26/08 06:46 PM

Hi, Rushes!

I may never see the finale laugh ! I used the key I found in the propane tank to open the door and don't have a clue what I'm supposed to do next. There is a map on the wall inside the room as well as a lever that can be turned either clockwise or counter-clockwise, but turning the lever doesn't seem to do anything.

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be gratefully appreciated.

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/26/08 06:53 PM

Hi Susie,

Did you also pick up a map from the propane bin? Compare that with the map on the wall. You are currently standing in #1 circle. The aim is to make your way to #2, then #3, etc and all the way through to #10 where there will be an exit ladder.

By turning the various wheels you will fill or drain the wells. Filling a well will create a floating bridge for you to pass across into another section of the maze. Note the symbols painted on the well walls match the symbols on the map, so you will know where you are (in theory!).

luck wave If you need any further help, just shout!

Hi, Rushes!

There wasn't a map in the propane tank ... just the key. Did I miss something?

Re: Phantom Of Venice - 07/26/08 10:09 PM

Are you playing Senior level? You'll only find a map in the propane bin if you're playing Junior.

In which case you only have the wall map in the well maze to help you. scared

You are in the upper ladder area to the left. You need to make your way to the upper ladder on the right.

luck

Hi, Rushes!

Yes, I'm playing Senior level, which explains why I didn't find no stinkin' map in the propane tank cry !

I'll study the map on the wall to see if I can make any sense of it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I FINALLY got out of that blasted warehouse with the sapphire! Now I'm getting beat at Scopa again, but at least that's more fun than dodging the robots! smile If you're still at the stakeout by the time I get there, maybe if we team up we can get Nico.

Good luck!

Diane

Thanks TLC, MaG, and dragonuk44 for the encouragement! I FINALLY made it out of the warehouse with the sapphire! That was quite a challenge for me. I figured I might spend the rest of my life in there. Anyway, now I'm getting beat at Scopa again, but it's more fun than dodging robots.

Yes, it felt good getting out of the warehouse! The feeling may be short-lived, though, when I encounter the next puzzle. smile

its a real good feeling when you do them your self .I still cant get my head through the door by doing the slabs in Perry Rhodan .That was more like a card puzzal (better not say to much)It took me ages but I did it and Perry says when the puzzal was finished .Piece of cake lol
