I would like a save after the slider too but I will need to have it explained to me how to put it in the game. I've not had to ask for a save for a long time and have completely forgotten how to make them work.

I wish I had a screwdriver in my inventory with which I would pry those last two tiles out and swap them...but no (sigh!). I've tried and tried, it's always comes down to two tiles that need to be switched. I humbly request a saved game for the slider puzzle. It would be very much appreciated!

MANY, MANY THANKS! It finally dawned on me to look for the RIGHT GAME to open once I actually got into the game itself. It was at the very beginning - just as you'd written VERY CLEARLY.

That's a major "DUH" on my part. Slider puzzles and I don't co-exist happily.

Here's what ronrob posted a while back, with help on how to solve a slider puzzle:

If I know what the completed puzzle is supposed to look like, my technique with sliders is to line up what goes into the first row in the last column. For example if the first row is A B C D, then I create

X X X A
X X X B
X X X C
X X X D

Then move the tiles out of the first row and snake the column tiles counterclockwise into the row.

If the second row is J K L M, then I create

A B C D
X X X J
X X X K
X X M L

Now move the tiles out of the second row and snake the column tiles counterclockwise into the row.

A B C D
J K L M
X X X X
X X X X
Etc.

It didn't work. I saved the files but when I load the game there's nothing there.

Did you follow the step by step written in the mail?
Did you renumber both files to be the last number in the saved game folder?
Did you keep the extensions and spaces the same as before?
Did you place both files in the AOM2 folder in My Documents?
Did you scroll at beginning of the load page to see if it is there?
Is your game the NA or European version?

yes I did. I opened the two files in documents for AOM2. I renamed both files the last saved number which was save0004. When I opened the game I went to "Load Games" and it was not there. I do not Know what "Na" is but I downloaded the game through Big Fish Games.

NA stands for North America.

I sent a saved game for this puzzle previously to another member who also downloaded the game from Big Fish, and they too were unable to get the save to work for them. I'm wondering if there is an incompatibility, the same as between the NA/European versions.

Thanks for the input Rushes. I hope that someone can eventually help me cause I would love to finish the game.

Just to verify - you scrolled at start of the list on the load screen?

One thought - open the saved game folder.
Check the extensions of the files in there.
See if they are similar to the ones sent to you.
Keep us posted.

Thank you very much for sending it. But I did everything you said and then I opened the game and the only saved games there are the ones I had done previously.

A lot of people have trouble getting the saves for this game to work.

Are you playing the US, European, or Big Fish version of the game? I sent you a save for the US version. Saves are not cross-compatible.

Did you scroll right back to the beginning of your saves in the in-game load screen? They are in date order, so mine would be at the beginning.

Double check that you renumbered sequentially and didn't omit/add a zero while renumbering, and that the extensions remain as they were.

Hi - I am new here but have the same issue with the slider puzzle on Puppeteer. I have just TWO pieces that I need to switch. I prefer not to cheat but any help in trying to switch two pieces that are side by side (next to each other on the same line), without messing up the rest, would be a great help and very appreciated. Thanks!

Have a peek at THIS article on solving slider puzzles. It doesn't appear possible to switch two adjacent pieces without moving others permanently out of order:

"The biggest trouble is when the two out of place tiles are right next to each other. That’s when you have to start the merry-go-round, migrating the out-of-place tile from one circuit to another until it ends up in a circuit that will allow it to slip into its correct spot."

It looks as though you'll need to shuffle around some more -- perhaps the tips provided in the rest of the article will help.

Okay nevermind! My super-smart husband figured the puzzle out somehow!! Lucky Me!!!!

Did you follow the step by step instructions in the mail?
The game opens the file, not you or another program.
All you have to do is install it as stated.
Scroll through the load list - I believe it is at start of the list (arranged by dates).

I know I'm late in the game here, but can you send me a saved game after the slider puzzle? I would REALLT appreciate it! Thanks for your awesome walkthroughs MaG!!
