Secret Files 3 - Rocking the statue in the church

This should be an easy puzzle. It isn't. I can't get the statue rocking to the other side no matter when I click. Has anyone passed this puzzle?

MaG: I chose the higher level and didn't save, so I didn't want to restart the game. You can't change it after you've chosen.

Actually, I'm still not sure how I got through it. It seems to be random luck whether it swings back or not. However if you click as close as possible to when the statue is stationary either at right or left, it seems to have the best chance of working.

I also finished the statue in 2 swings on easy.

Click on one arrow and as soon as the statue leans to the farthest point - click on opposite arrow.
It will swing wider. Do this until Nina automatically enters the window.

Well as 'puzzles' go this one is pretty wretched. Doesn't bode well for the rest of the game - hope I'm wrong because I really enjoyed the first two. Timed clicks (or timed anything) in adventures just leave me cold:-(

I feel the same way mj2c. Stuck on this stupid rocking puzzle (is this actually a puzzle?). Not enjoying it. Can't seem to find the rhythm. Have saved game a couple times including autosave, but it won't let me open a saved game. I'm not going back to the beginning again just to do this mini-game.

I'm glad there was a demo because I know now that I'm not missing anything when I don't buy the game.

Edit: Well, after this mini-rant I re-read the readme and found how to load a game. I just assumed there was supposed to be a load option on the main menu. There isn't in my game. I have to do a Control-L to get to the saved games.

Anyway, once I got back to this mini-game I tried again and got thru it pretty easy. Why is that always the way?

Where did you buy your game?
I am downloading it now from Gamersgate and in another thread on this forum, 2 other people who downloaded it from there got the German version! It didn't mention anything about it being in German.

I got mine at Steam since they were the only one available yesterday that I know of.
I have mine in English.

At control panel of steam - When you right click the name of the game, you can select properties.
The select the language tab and select the language you want to play it on.

Maybe GamersGate has similar choice.

Thanks MaG...I don't know what to do now. I've downloaded the game from Gamersgate, and the Install Wizard Shield opened and it's all in German, so I don't even know what button to click because i can't read German.
I don't know if I should wait to hear from GamersGate or what.

Okay, for what it's worth I went back and was able to complete the demo. Turns out there is a load option in the main menu, I just missed it...

The game is better than I thought, I just got off on the wrong foot with it. This game reminds me that I stink at games...

On second thought this is a good game. It wasn't as hard as I felt it to be at first. I will buy this game after I complete the 1st two games.

Edit: UruKat, When I tried to install the german choices were installerein and something else. I chose installerein and after that the language changed to english. But that was for the English Demo and may not be what you have.

Didn't want to start a new thread but I've just started the game and am already stuck. I've climbed the wall and am supposed to either dispose of or distract the guard I'm sure. I've tried every combination of everything I can think of and nothing works. Maybe I didn't pick up something I was supposed to.

I have in inventory snake in bag, grappling hook, and incendiary agents.

Look through the window at left. It is the stable where the horses are.
Horses are afraid of snakes.

If you selected the easy mode:
- click one arrow
- wait til the statue reaches the farthest opposite swing and then click the other arrow.
- do this until Nina automatically jumps out.

I am not good at arcade but in 3 replays I did it this way.

I sent you the saved game. You will miss 3 cutscenes: the robed man, waking up with Max and Max being arrested.

Ok...believe it or not....I finally got the game playing in English...yay!
Now....I can't find where I select the play mode difficulty. I definitely need the easy mode, but I don't see the option anywhere on the main menu or in options.
Sorry to be such a pain over this game....just want to get to playing it.

Nevermind...I started playing the game and eventually when it was the first challenge, it gave me the choice to choose easy. I'm used to it being in the Options menu.
So far I am loving the game!

I purchased this game from Steam, but there has been a problem (after downloading it) in installing the game. I have e-mailed Steam Support three times about this problem, and they still haven't sent me a reply. The only thing I HAVE received from them are 3 e-mails saying that they have received my request, and will reply to me by mail.I HAD successfully downloaded and played the DEMO without any hitches, so I KNOW the full version will run well on my computer.
Anyway, I'm trying to be patient. I'll keep you posted on my "progress" concerning this matter.

What is the problem you're having with the game download?

Do you think the demo that you downloaded might interfere with the full game?
Maybe delete the download first?

I DID delete all the files for the demo, Mag. Another day and I'm still waiting to hear from Steam Support. I have bought many games from Steam, and I've never had a problem before. All I want from them is a reply. That's not too much to ask for. I thank you for YOUR support,Mag

I turned on Steam, went to my "Library" (for the umpteenth time) and there was SF3 in the listing this time and asking to install the game, which I DID, and it's running perfectly. I think that Steam might have had a temporary Server problem, but all is well now.

I'm in the museum in San Francisco. I've already looked at the picture through the x-ray and am trying to leave, but when I do, I get a voice that's speaking German and I can't get out of the basement. What's going on?

I had that German dialogue too but I didn't stall.

I too am having trouble with the rocking statue.
I can't get the arrows to work right to make the statue to rock.so may I please have a save game for this part, with instructions on how to put it in the game. thank you.

You will miss a LOT of cutscenes with the saved game I have.

Try and have patience; click or double click on opposite arrow when the statue swing farthest at opposite side.

I also sent the saved game.

I've been working on this puzzle for like 5 hours and have gotten nowhere. Sometimes the statue moves when I click the arrows and other times, I get nothing.
