Re: the testament of sherlock-alarm - 10/30/12 02:17 AM

It did take me several tries to do this puzzle.

I used the mouse completely, timing is also necessary.

If you position the arrowhead at the correct place and at the correct time; then click on the place you want it to go - you don't need to move it manually. luck

---------

I cannot find my saves for the prison chapter as well as 3 more chapters. Weird.

If you want a saved game, let's wait for someone else that has a complete set. crazy

-----------

I found the complete set. <whew>
The saved game is sent.

In win7 it is at:
C:\Users\your computer's name\AppData\Roaming\Frogwares\The Testament of Sherlock Holmes\save folder.

Be sure that you have ticked on the show hidden folders.

Hi abby,

I moved your post to your original thread. Please stay with one thread per game, it helps us follow your gameplay. thanks

Re. the journalist deduction board, did you double check this:

Clicking on the ashtray. You should have clicked on the cigar itself AND the very tip (burning end) of the cigar. That's two different spots. It's really easy to miss clicking on the burning tip.

You've just missed examining an item in the room. If it isn't the cigar tip, go back carefully through MaG's walkthrough for what needs to be clicked on/examined. luck

Re: the testament of sherlock-alarm - 11/25/12 04:32 AM

That's where the hotspot is located.

After you placed the wad by the barrel - turn around and go to the road-path at the corner of the menagerie.

In that picture by Rushes - the menagerie would be to your left. You will feel exposed to the guard a bit. luck

hello,
I needa little help. I love the sherlock holmes games. I have played all of them. but once in awhile they do get a little gross. as in the part where holmes finds kurtz. I did ok with the exam of kurtz. but i just can't examine the poor dog. may i please have a save game for after that. thank you

Re: the testament of sherlock-alarm - 12/04/12 08:32 PM

Hi Kathy,

It does depend upon the order you're playing the three locations in, as each player's choice may be different and necessitate you replaying a whole other area if you use another's save game. Are you following the walkthrough?

The examination of the dogs is *very* brief -- I think just three clicks on active spots on each dog, and that's it, all over. You can fast-click through explanatory dialogue.

Hope you can get through ok. (My saves don't follow the sequence in the walkthrough.) But do let us know if you still have problems. There's an ickier part coming up shortly, although not involving animals. luck

Hello,
I am having a little trouble. i am at the opium den. and i am trying to get into the private room. i have the syringe hi-lighted. now I am not sure when to put the syringe on the guard. I have tried a few times, but its not working. maybe you could help me.

Re: the testament of sherlock-alarm - 12/07/12 01:47 AM

Yes, that's a tricky part where you need to be quick. Have the syringe selected and your cursor ready at the point at about eye-level to the right of Holmes. Then the exact moment when the guard comes into Holmes's view, aim for the side of the neck -- the cursor should turn green to show you're at the correct spot. luck

Re: the testament of sherlock-alarm - 12/22/12 06:44 PM

Hi Kathy,

Check the screenshot that I posted on the first page of this thread. That shows where to place the last wad of money. It's just where you exit out into the "danger area" that Holmes warns you about, and a little to the left of that.
