Machinarium on Ipad 3

This seems a rather cute little game, but I'm in trouble already. I'm at about the 5th scene where I'm trying to capture the dog with the plunge-gun. I have done everything, and have the gun and the plunger, but I can't make them go together. I'm VERY new to this Ipad and can't seem to get the two things to combine. Any idea what I might have missed?

Sorry The Haze, I've played the game but too long ago to remember how to work this one.

That being said, if you move your pointer to the upper right side of the game screen you'll find a help book. You open the outer cover and then play a mini game in order to get the graphic representation of the walkthrough for that scene.

Thanks to both of you, but there is a problem. I found and have utilized the "Help Wallet." I also checked several walkthroughs. They all say, or show, "Use the plungegun on the dog." The problem is that I can't make the empty gun and the plunger into a gun. It stays in two pieces.

ARGGHH! I have once again used ths forum to discover that I am an idiot! I didn't have the gun. I had some stupid key! I found the gun and am proceeding (Whenever my wife lets me use the IPAD.) Thanks for the help.

Thinking you have one object only to discover you don't, does tend to make one feel silly, The Haze. And you aren't the first one to feel that way. It's a case of been there done that, several times.

FYI, The Haze (and anyone else still following this thread), Amanita Design has their own forum which is dedicated, in large part, to supporting the games they're best known for (Samorost1, Samorost2, Machinarium, and Botanicula) So if you run into any further troubles with Machinarium (or wonder about any of the others I just mentioned ) you can always seek out hints/tech fixes/etc. there.
