ASA A Space Adventure - 03/28/13 12:03 AM
Has anyone played this game? I generally dislike downloading games, but I liked the look of this one so I tried it. It began well enough, but I cannot get the grid in the Bridge to work. I used the walkthrough provided with the game, and another one some helpful boomer suggested (In Danish, I think) but still no go. I must have missed a trigger, but it's supposed to be non-linear, so that seems unlkely. Any ideas?

Have you found the coordinates? This was a challenging puzzle for me. I thought I knew how to enter coordinates but since I couldn't get them to work in the game I did a search on the Internet and found that I didn't know how to enter them on a grid like this. There are many graphics of coordinate grids on the Internet, see if you can find one that shows you the way. If you still are having trouble give me a holler as I still have the game loaded.

Thanks Grayfuss, but I think I did this correctly. Indeed that Danish walkthrough had pictures that were fairly blatant. No matter what I tried I wound up not getting to the new planet. Ah well, I can always plat URU again!

Not quite yet, but I have done it before. There have been a couple games when the entertainment quotient was outmatched by the irritation quotient. When that point is reached, I'm done. I fear I stopped being a purest when facing that drop-down chair in MYST IV.

Are you sure you are entering the X Y and Z coordinates in the right place and in the right direction? Especially the z coordinate?
I just ran the game and refreshed my memory with the grid. If I knew which planets coordinates you were trying I could give you exact instructions but I will try with these generic instructions...
Take your X-Y-Z coordinates, set your Z coordinate on the under side of the grid first. The key here is to start from the top and count down.
Once you have that Z coordinate set correctly go back up to the grid. Starting in the lower left corner, count to the right and set the small round button exactly on your X coordinate. Once you have the X coordinate set correctly and from that point count up the grid the number for your Y coordinate and place the round marker exactly there. Now you have all the coordinates set correctly. X - Y on the Grid and the Z underneath.
Now press the rectangular button in the upper right hand corner of the grid and your ship should be on its way
I hope I got that right . Let me know and if I can't get you moving on then I will give Simon a ring and he will for sure get you going.

Thanks Greyfuss; I'll try it tomorrow. I must first recover from my meeting with my tax man today. It hurts!

Hey Greyfuss; F Y I. I got it, but oddly. I found a walkthrough in a non-English language. The co-ordinates, as written, were the same as those noted in the game-included walkthrough (And the ones I calculated.) However, the included picture showed the points to be slightly, but definitely, different than the ones noted in the text. I went with the picure and am now on KEPLER. {Sorry it's been so long, but I didn't mention that we have just moved to a new home. I may never get all the boxes unpacked!)
