nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/09/13 06:13 PM
in the guide it stays to pick up the hammer where is that, it is suppose to be near a porch swing.

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/09/13 06:19 PM
The hammer is located:
I hope my memory is correct about this. When you are facing the porch swing, turn around, then look at the column to the left of you. The hammer is lying there on a ledge; it's not big and obvious, but it is there.

Hi Kootsie,
I just started playing this AM.
If you have any questions - don't hesitate to ask. A lot of gamers are playing way ahead of me - so they can answer you. Marian for one.

Having trouble knowing what to do. Have picked up a lot of stuff for the inventory but can't move on. Keep hearing eerie sound, can't open door at end of hall, can't open briefcase. What to do?

Oh yes. I do have oranges and pennies. Where are the nails?
Posted By: Marian
Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/10/13 02:07 AM
The nails are
on the wall, left of the table where the jar of wires is (in the room with the cotton gin).

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/10/13 03:40 AM
Thanks. I found them. How long does it take to charge the darn thing? I don't know what else to do.
Posted By: Marian
Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/10/13 03:50 AM
It's hard to say exactly, but while it was charging I looked around the property, read my task list and my journal, etc., and I would say it probably took about 20-30 minutes.

Hi again Boomers!
Anyone played a lot of the game yet> I have and am stuck trying to locate the flower plate for the crypt coffins.

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/10/13 02:53 PM
Leeana, if you are trying to figure out the password for the phone:
You need to look at the scavenger hunt list but you also need to look at the epitaphs - have you done that? And you've talked to Addison, right?
Kootsie, as for the flower plate:
Have you found a locked box yet?

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/10/13 02:56 PM
Leeana - trouble with password
You need to check the gravestones that are mentioned in the scavenger hunt list.

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/10/13 03:40 PM
yep marian..did find locked box. I now need to find a missing number 6 for the tunnel door which has been locked again so i can use the key which I found in Charlottes room.

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/11/13 12:00 AM
Anyone know where the key is hiding? I can't see a thing out there!

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/11/13 12:14 AM
Melia,
There are several keys in this game. Which one do you need? Also close the curtains and raise brightness - see if that helps you.
Kootsie,
The missing number 6 is obtained several steps later by using the small key obtained in Charlotte's room.
The tunnel door is not locked at all. Where are you now in the game?

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/11/13 01:46 AM
Hi Mag and thanks for responding. Yes, I have the small key from Charlottes room but when I go down to use it, another puzzle appears at the doorway. It tells me to unlock door in the tunnels. Here is what is on my task list:
Find a way to use the flower design...
Figure whats in side the buried bos...
Find a way to unlock the door in the tunnels...
Find Jessalyn
Also, I cannot get Clara to leave the front room..sigh...gettin mighty frustrated!!

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/11/13 02:50 AM
I don't have the key to the door at the end of the hall or the crypt key. And the brightness on my monitor is raised to the highest level and I'm still having problems. This game is just too dark.

Kootsie and Melia,
The walkthrough is posted.
The subheadings are the To Do list.
You can also do a search for the words in the walkthrough.
I'm terribly hungry. I have not eaten anything yet today. Just cola and hard candies.

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/11/13 08:07 AM
MaG, I need your help! After you eat and rest, of course. I lost a ton of my work on this game when the game crashed on me. I've been following your walkthrough exactly and was at the part where I was trying to start the generator - moving that dratted ball along - unsuccessfully. Could you PLEASE send me a saved game that takes up after the generator is working again? (And tell me again how to install it in my game?)
Thank you! Am going to bed. Tomorrow is fine. Good night.

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/11/13 01:30 PM
Heh--The game IS too dark. I was sitting at the table with my coffee this morning when this occurred to me:
Such a big house...where is the kitchen and why does the tea stay hot all the time?
Where does Colton sleep? And Wade for that matter? Clara also...
Where are all those workers who are out looking for Jess?
Why is Ned at Bess's house?
LOL...get a life Kootsie~

Leeana,
Are you using the correct coffin to do the puzzle on?
The clue to the correct coffin is the one you got by doing the stacking puzzle.

Re: nancy drew ghost of thornton hall - 05/11/13 06:29 PM
OK! The diagram in rhe walkthrough for the generator ball bearing movements is very confusing...any way someone could just post i.e.
1st ball bearing...move L x (#) ; D x (#) etc.
and then same with 2nd ball bearing..
Fingers crossed...
