I think I am going mad?? in MaG's w/t it talks about a picture in the storeroom to the right of where the iron bar was, there is a niche there but no picture, have I forgotten to do something?

The walkthrough says that the picture should be on the far wall right of where the iron bar was taken. I'm not familiar with this game, but until someone comes along who is, my suggestion would be to read over the walkthrough to see if you have missed any steps.

Are you playing the extended version or the original?
The wt here is for the original. I read that the extended version is quite different than the original.

Have read all about both games and I am playing the non extended game and there definitely is no painting in the room I seem to have followd everything correctly so my only option is to go back to an old save and see what happens.

Yes, I would try that first, and double-check the walkthrough. I hope things clear up.

Let's use the door as reference. Face the door of the stockroom.
Go to the left side of the door. There should be a painting on that wall.

If you do not see the painting on that wall, you must not have done something to trigger it.

I have been through the disussions on Steam and there is a walkthrough by Marona who mentions that you have to experience both the Black shadow (which I have) and the Red Vision which I haven't she recommends hanging around until you do, so I have been hanging and hanging until I go fed up and will try again tomorrow. Thanks for all your troubles.

Having watched several youtube playthroughs I came to the conclusion it was nothing I had done, so I went back to options and turned on all the graphics I had turned off (since my graphic card is low end) and now I am living with the flashing but things are starting to happen to me, so I can only guess you need all the graphics they set you up with to get anywhere
