Dracula 4 help please

I used the lighter on the wax but I can't get out of the inventory. I click on the X in the right hand corner but nothing happens. I can click on the inventory items but nothing else.

Had that same problem. I just kept clicking everywhere and it let me out eventually.

I freeze a lot on this game.
I played with all other programs closed and I'll get a long run of not freezing.
