Memoria-In Dormitory

Hi fellow Boomers,
I've been following Bert's walkthrough very carefully. I'm in Chapter 2 and I entered the dormitory with the purpose of taking "The strange blue artifact". Quoting Bert's words: "This time walk pass the red curtain. Go up between the upper and second bed from top. Walk towards the pot you repaired earlier. Simply take the strange blue artifact next to the novice." This is where I'm confused. I went back through thewalkthrough starting from the beginning up to where I am now in the dormitory, and there's no mention of repairing a pot. Where IS this repaired pot? I accessed all of the hotspots in this room but never saw anything resembling a "pot" or even a "repaired pot". Also I'm confused about the part in the wt that states: "Walk pass the red curtain and GO UP between THE UPPER AND SECOND BED FROM THE TOP." There is no way to "GO UP" after
passing the red curtain (which is at the top of the screen).
It's possible that I'm missing something here, but if I AM, I don't know what it is. I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

The pot is actually broken on the floor. Use the spacebar to see where it is. Then use your spell to fix it. The pot is around the 3rd chest I think. After you pass the red curtain,you have to come down a bit on the left hand side, before you can go back up. Take baby steps. I was never able to get the blue thing by the guy,but this is how I got the item from the chest.
Use your magic spell to see where the item is. Hope this helps.

Hi Cathy. Here is the reason as to why I was confused. Bert refers to the "pot" on the bed, but in the game it is called "shards". The reason why you were not able to take "the strange device" is because you have to cast the "repair/destroy spell" on the "shards" which will destroy them. Then you can go forward between the beds and then just take"the strange device" from the bed where the guy is sitting. WHEW!
