Uru - 04/28/14 08:49 PM

I just started to play this game and I like it very much. Kind of in the original Myst tradition. However, I've run into a problem.

I have successfully completed the first trip through GAHREESEN and activated all journey cloths in TELEDAHN. When I return to GAHREESEN through the Bahro Stone into the cell and activate the journey cloth there I get three fingers and the thumb which is OK so far.

Then when I get to the top of the revolving building and activate the journey cloth there, I still get three fingers and a thumb. So when I get to the exit door, I can't open it. By the way, I have lost the maintainers suit.

What have I done wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

While waiting for the Uru experts - maybe a replay might help.

Thanks MaG. Nice to hear from you.

Have you touched them all. Bert Jamin's walkthrough says there are 7 journey cloths not 5.

Re: Uru - 04/28/14 10:44 PM

I thought I had, but I'll try and retrace my steps.

----------
I found the one I missed. It was the one in the conference room.

Thanks for your help.

Mucho thanks Geo!

Re: Uru - 04/30/14 03:58 PM

Well I'm stuck again. I'm in KADISH TOLESA and have successfully solved the telescope puzzle. I'v entered the door and found the third journey cloth on the back of the door.

I'm in the circular room and activated the 2nd, 3rd and 5th blue buttons to form the pattern on the floor. But when I walk to the center of the room (the small circle ) nothing happens. I've followed the pattern from the illuminated panel room, but I must be doing something wrong.

Can someone give me a clue.

Thanks

Re: Uru - 04/30/14 04:26 PM

The only clue I have is that you have to walk the dark path and be very careful not to touch any white, even by a millimeter. The game is Very critical of any mis-steps.

Well I walked the floor as carefully as I could and it worked.

Thanks Geo.

Re: Uru - 04/30/14 09:26 PM

This age really seems to be giving me fits. I'm at the pyramid by the lake, but can't find the journey cloth. I've walked around to the right but no luck so far. Is it on the trunk of the trees or in the pyramid?

Re: Uru - 04/30/14 10:11 PM

Maybe this will help:

Click to reveal..
Jump across the gap and climb the steps. Enter a room with a large pyramid. Go
around it to the right to find the fourth Journey Cloth hidden on a recess on
the pyramid wall.

To me this is the greatest game of all time. I love it. It is the only game I ever played where I felt I was in the game.

That's very high praise, Geo. bravo

Re: Uru - 05/01/14 12:39 PM

Thanks Marian, with those directions, I couldn't miss it.

I know you cannot save the game anywhere you want, but I did find that if you link using the journey cloth, it takes you back to the last journey cloth in the age. Not ideal but at least you don't have to start at the beginning every time.

Re: Uru - 05/07/14 02:24 PM

OK, a couple more questions. In EDER GIRA, are there two or three steam generators? I found one in the lower cave and one in the little room, but the walkthrough seems to indicate two in the lower cave.

Then I'm supposed to build a bridge between the two caves with the two traps, but which two caves? From the cave with the steam generator to the cave on the left?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Uru - 05/07/14 06:09 PM

satch, here is what there is in Coehlo Buda's WT:

"Go behind the waterfalls, and it should be very dark. Go as far left as you
can without entering a small tunnel. Walk to the back wall of the cave and
turn around so that you are looking at the waterfall. You should be able to
see a silhouette of a machine. Move the cursor around the top-middle of the
machine and when it indicates you can click on something, do. This will turn
on the first steam light generator. On the right side of the cave you fill
find another one of these. Turn it on also".

"You will have to push both wooden stools, one at a time, to the area behind
the waterfall to the right, more precisely, to the place you jumped with the
fireflies to enter the cave. Push both against the wall so that they form a
bridge. They should be side by side with one flat hexagonal top to the wall
and the other turned to you. Test them to make sure you will not fall into the
water when trying to cross them".

In the first cave you enter, the one near the smallriver, there are 2 steam generators.

The bridge to build with the traps are to be build where you first enter the cave.
You need the bridge because you can't get wet when carrying the fireflies.

Good luck.

Thanks, I'll keep on trying. I hate to get stuck this late in the game.

Re: Uru - 05/08/14 05:54 PM

Well I did finally manage to get the last journey cloth. Thanks to all for the help.

I just noticed I don't have a linking book for the Cleft age. Is this going to be a problem later on?

Hopefully, I can now solve the rest of the game, and then play the expansion pack.

Re: Uru - 05/08/14 06:17 PM

satch, there is indeed no book for the Cleft and there will be no problem later on.

Have fun with the expansion pack.

Thanks Chief, that takes a worry off my mind.

Re: Uru - 05/23/14 02:28 PM

Now I am in expansion pack 1. I visited the Kirel neighborhood and entered the 5 alcoves, but I donot see the 5 pale green segments or the flashing red light that indicates a GZM.

Any ideas?

Thanks and have a great holiday.

Re: Uru - 05/23/14 03:17 PM

After you enter the alcoves, the Bahro stones will take you to a new location. Have you visited each location and programmed your Ki by putting your hand in the slot?

I hope you have a great holiday too. smile

Re: Uru - 05/23/14 07:15 PM

Yes I did go to each new location and programmed my Ki.

Re: Uru - 05/23/14 07:18 PM

So,

Click to reveal..
when you get to the Great Zero Antechamber, read Douglas's notebook. Look through the window to see the Great Zero Courtyard and put your hand in the Ki slot. Five pale green segments will appear and a light will begin to flash red.

You have done all of this and you don't get the pale green segments to appear? If not, then I am not sure what you are missing. Hopefully someone who has played this game will be able to drop in and offer you some advice. smile

Re: Uru - 05/27/14 07:21 PM

I have been trying to work on this over the weekend and now I have another question. When I program my Ki in the Great Zero Antechamber, the "camera" device appears and it has five solid green segments showing. Does this tell me I should now be looking for the GZM's?

I still do not see a flashing red light.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Re: Uru - 05/27/14 07:39 PM

I am not sure why you are not also seeing a flashing red light. According to a walkthrough:

Click to reveal..
When you get to the Great Zero Antechamber read Douglas's notebook. Look through the window to see the Great Zero Courtyard and put your hand in the Ki slot. Five pale green segments will appear and a light will begin to flash red. This tells you that a Great Zero Marker (GZM) is nearby. It is not that difficult to see. Click on the GZM and one of the segments turns dark green.

Re: Uru - 06/09/14 04:26 PM

Well I've made it to the PATH OF THE SHELL and have made several batches of pellets, but so far no bright white light. Did I miss something or do I just have to keep making more pellets?

Thanks for any help.
Posted By: Marian

Re: Uru - 06/09/14 04:55 PM

If I am reading the walkthrough correctly, you do not have to keep making more pellets. If you do not see the white light, it means the pellet was not made correctly.

Click to reveal..
When you go to the room with the four mixers, by setting the controls to the number of spokes on each wheel, you will produce stone pellets with the right amount of energy. You will be testing them anyway to see if they are correct.

Re: Uru - 06/09/14 05:26 PM

I thought I did the mixers correctly, but will try again.

Thanks
