Really stuck I should have finished chapter 1 now. I've done everything I can think of,completed the symbols puzzle,read the plant book,drank the potion talked to the king but can't talk to the queen. I looked at the video of the game and done everything. So far I've played two hours. Thank you. Don't know if I can post this or not.

Did you use the carpenter book on the weeping willow? also, you need to read the fishing book again and do some more fishing for quite a while to get something else. Hopefully that will help.

I used the book but I still can't talk to the Queen.
The fishing book isn't in the library anymore.
She doesn't want to fish anymore. She says-I think I've fished enough today.I've got other things to do.

She has to wear the hat to get to the new world and ride the hippograf. The only thing I can think of that I might have done different than you did, is that I didn't tell the queen that I was pregnant. I used the other response. Have you ever talked to the queen? You said that you looked at all the symbols by the queen and finished that puzzle? you have to talk to the queen to get the moonwater, so, I don't know how you could have finished the symbol puzzle without talking to the queen. ?

I've talked to the queen several times before to get all the symbols. Yes I finished the puzzle so I must have gotten all the of them. I talked to the queen before the puzzle. I think I've done everything I had to do. I just looked at the rainbow but that didn't make any difference. I looked at the video and it took 2 hrs to finish chapter 1. I've played it for about 2 hrs to. I should have finished the first chapter.

do you have the spade and dug at the end of the rainbow? and have extra sunflower seeds? talk to the father again then.

Got the pot of gold what a difference it made. I gave the sunflower seed to cheep cheep the ones that the king had did something to them. Now i'm looking at a pink pig. That helped when I dug with the spade at the end of the rainbow. Thanks so much mbday630 I hope I can move along now.

I'm at the part with Wilbur, and I'm stuck. So far I've swept up the hall by using the automation spell on the broom from the display case, but I can't get it to stop sweeping. I also got the fireplace network travel powder after I distracted the headmaster with a kobold. In my inventory I have a bellows filled with stinky gas from the classroom plant, a nibbled notepad, a magic wand, loose pages from a book, gold coins from the fishtank, a fishbone and thread that have combined into a sewing needle, a yellowed design drawing, a magic slate, fireplace powder, an automation spell, an open spell, a fairy spell, and a keyring. What do I do now? I still have to get rid of the kobolds, get rid of the cobwebs and stop the sweeping broom. I also have to get to the library, but I don't know how to start a fire. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What spell do I need to open the display case? If I don't have the right spell how do I get it.

I am stuck though. I can't get the last page of the book.... I assume it is in the library but I can't open the wall in the library. I can't get rid of the cobwebs either. I finally got rid of that last flying kobold though. that was tricky. So, how do I stop the broom, get rid of the cobweb and get the last page of my book and open up the wall? help please.

that was a tricky part. you have to put one of the coins in the door to the left of the troll. then when he goes to look at it, you see his keys and you can get them. I think you have to use a spell on them (maybe not, maybe it is just a hand icon, I can't remember). Then use the keys to open the display case. Let me know if you can help me get unstuck! I have been getting nowhere for a long time now.

I got the broom now I have to figure out what to do with it.

the automation spell should work on the broom. There are quite a few bugs in the game, so, keep trying.

I only saw page 1 of this post and didn't realize there were other pages. I am wracking my brain trying to remember what I did about the broom....I used the automation spell on it to sweep the floor and now I'm trying to remember how I disabled it! Give me some time...that was a tuffie!

Did you first use the broom on the dirt to try and clean the floor by yourself? I think you have to do that first before using the spell. Please help me gameho to get these cobwebs!

yes, I got that thing. The first time that I got him, I messed up and didn't shut the window and he came back in! That was a hard puzzle.

Now about the broom. There has to be a way to stop it. What should be do about the Kobolt. I've tried everything to stop the broom but nothing worked.

me too. I think it has something to do with the cobweb; but, as I said, I have tried everything in my inventory on it and nothing is working. I have tried to talk to the headmaster and nothing comes from him. The troll doesn't talk anymore either. I can't do anything in the library, as the books don't trust me and I need one more page to finish the book to sew it together. argh.

I looked at all the files in the filling cabinet on the head master room. That didn't work. Will keep trying. What book do you meed

for the book in the library. When I try to sew it together (have you done that?) he says that he needs one more page. the books behind the desk don't trust wilbur yet, so, I assume I have to fix the book on the desk,.... but, nothing works on it.

I tried to sew them together but I can't. I just got some fireplace travel powder. I still can't light a fire in the fireplace. I guess I have to distract the headmaster. I was looking at a video and you have to use the bellows on the apparatus to make a fire and use a paper to light it, doesn't work for me. You won't be able to stop the broom until after you light the fireplace. When you light the fireplace you can go into a different room. I didn't that's what the video looked like.

ah, I had a hard time lighting a fire too. If I remember correctly, you have to use the correct response to the headmaster when he asks if you are using school property. You have to say something about that they are old boards anyway... and can't remember the rest, but, it did have to do with using the correct response to the headmaster. I hope that helps.

I didn't know that thank you.I did what you said but I still couldn't start the fire with the bellows. I didn't get the right response when I looked at the apparatus.

I don't want to give too much away, but forget about the cobwebs; they will sort themselves out. As far as stopping the broom, you can't do it until much later in the chapter and think "Sorcerer's Apprentice". I hope this helped.

I don't think you need the bellows to start the fire. do you have the start fire in your inventory?

gameho, it's good to know that I can forget the cobwebs. I just can't tie up the pages together in the library. I have the troll stuff and the sewing stuff, but, it doesn't do anything. the books in the library won't trust him until he fixes the book and I just can't get any further.

You have to use the gas filled bellows on the apparatus to charge it. Then you use your spell to start a fire and use a paper to on the fire.. You can use the burning paper on the fireplace. I was watching a video that's how I new. The problem is I can't do it. I did the same thing what the video did but couldn't do it.

ah, I remember now. I was trying to run to the fireplace to start the fire and then I looked in my inventory and there is the burning paper in there.... you have to keep relighting the paper until you get to the fireplace! sorry I didn't remember before. That is tricky, as you still have to be fast, but, keep relighting the papers. I think I had to do it 3 times on the way to the fireplace.

BTW, I came to a dead end and someone had to send me a saved game. I accidentally threw one of the pages that I needed when I started the fire and I guess I needed to use the dog food bag. Make sure you don't make the same mistake! I was just clicking on things from the inventory and putting them on the fireplace.

I allways say the wrong things to the apparatus. No matter what I do and talk to the head master. I finally put the logs in the fireplace and there is enough paper there to. Now all I have to do is get a light from the apparatus. I just can't use the bellows on the apparatus.

You have the gas from the plant in the bellows? It should just go into the fire machine, but, I think other people had this problem too from reading things on the Steam discussion board. Maybe you should post on there and someone can help you. I just got a saved game cuz I accidentally put the wrong paper in the fireplace (a dead end) and now I can't walk anywhere. So, lots of bugs in the game.

I'm really at a dead end,can't light the apparatus. I've done everything there is to do. Must be a bug.

I found The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 folder and the savegame folder. I went in it and it said this folder is empty. There should be a lot of saves there. will keep looking.

I just sent you a saved game with the fire machine lit. You might have to do some things again, but, you know how to do that. Also, if you go through the fireplace from the library, there is a bug and you can't move. You have to enter through the new doorway created by the troll and not the fireplace.

I got the save but I don't know what to do with it. Walk me through please. Thank you for the save.

you will find the saved games: C:\Users\[YOURUSERNAME]\Documents\Bout2\savegames

Thank you will look for it. I found all the saves. Now what do I do with the save you sent me?

I saved the game to my desktop and then I just drug it over to the saved game list. I find that easiest to put on my desktop ....

How do I save it to my desktop.

There are several ways to place the attachment to desktop.
- Open the mail. Then you can click-hold-move it to desktop.
- You can right click the attachment and "save" or "save as" at the location you specify.

Thanks MaG will do. So easy when you know how to do it. Never thought it. I put it on my desktop but when I double click on it I go to my email. the same thing happened when I click in it in my saves I go to my email.

Kjos, I know it's too late to tell you this, but I ran into that bug as well. I had to start from an earlier save and do things exactly as listed in this thread where the highlighted spoilers are - http://steamcommunity.com/app/279940/discussions/0/616187203988683951/. They should have that bug ironed out now. Unfortunately, it's only fixed for those who hadn't already gotten to that point by the time they added their patch. So those of us who'd gotten hit with it had to start from an earlier save. Luckily, I had one that wasn't too far back, though I had to click through many dialogues I'd already gone through.

Best of luck; hope the save works for you! Aside from the bug, I'm really enjoying the game so far.

The save that I put in the other saves looks different than the other ones I have already there.

I started the game and I can't find it in any of the saves. I've got a lot of saves. will keep looking. I looked through all my saves in the game and couldn't see any new one.

maybe exit the game and then get into it again. It should be there. at first I had a hard time finding it too, but, then I saw that different word bibliothek vor B or something and viola!

I looked the saves on my hard drive and the one I just put in looks different than the ones. The new one looks like a circle with a arrow through it. Does that make a difference. The save should be at the end of the saves in the game.

this one wasn't at the end of my saves. I just noticed that it was called that different name.

if you want me to try again, I can send you the one that I already have on my desktop instead of the forwarded message that I received.

Thanks for the save mbday. I was looking at the two saves and the one you sent me was completely different. I don't know if that made a difference I guess that's why the save didn't work. kjos, another tip that I found out, there were several times that I couldn't advance, and I went to settings and changed my graphics to the lowest setting and when I went back into the game, it would advance. There are a lot of bugs and dead ends in this game. I hope they get them all squared away before the final product. Let me know if you need more help. If so, I can send you one of my own saves for right after that part.

I don't know if that would help you have done so much for me. You can send it and I will try to get it to work. Yes one of your own saves might just work Thanks

Well mbday,WOW I got it to work I had to do a little tweaking. I single clicked on the save you sent than at the bottom there was something I just put that on my desktop. I wasn't doing that before I just put the save on my desktop. Maybe that's what I did wrong. Anyway I see you got the fire going. You got all the pages to I see. I haven't looked around to much. I'll just take my time. Thanks again.

great! there isn't much more to the game. Just remember.... if you go through the fireplace again, there is a bug, so you have to go through the new door. also, if you get a snag where it doesn't advance, try changing the settings. let us know how you liked it after you finish it!

Everything went good and I have to wait for the next chapter. At least I finished it. do you know when the next chapter will be released. Thanks again.

Does anyone know how to relight the fire from the apparatus on the way to the fireplace? It goes out before I've left the classroom. Been stuck here for a week.

You should have several strips of paper in your inventory. Light one from the apparatus then double click to the fireplace; then use the fire. I hope this helps.

How is everyone doing with this game? I'm not very techie so, reading all the gliches here and on Steam (and there seem to be loads!) I'm a bit wary of buying it.
I just love this kind of game...the 1st 2 are among my faves ever... should I take a chance and go for it now or wait til the bugs are ironed out?
Be good to get some advice.

I didn't have any bugs in the second chapter. the first chapter had a couple.... the first time I played it through... but, the second time I played it, there were no bugs at all. This is a great game and I can't wait for the 3rd chapter. I held off buying it, thinking I would wait until it was all done, but, I just couldn't wait and I am happy that I didn't wait. I have had so much fun in the past couple of weeks playing it. I think now I have played both chapters 3 times. Great, Great game.

OK. Think you talked me into it. Can't wait any longer either.
