Nancy Drew 31 Labyrinth Of Lies

I've played the game many times in amateur mode now, so for once I thought I'd try Master mode. Right now I'm in the underworld at the Cerberus statue. I got the first 2 rounds of blocking the dog from the stars, but on the third one, no matter what I click, the dogs seam to gang up and get to where I can't block them. What must I be doing wrong?
