It's been many years since I played this game, but if I were you, I would continue to explore the museum and come back to this point later on. It may just not be the right time yet.

Ixupi will move around -- especially if you're playing on a faster computer. You may have to run around to all their possible locations -- and by the time you get to the last place, they may have switched locations. There is at least one other possible location for the Ash Ixupi.

Thanks, Jenny. That's what I thought I remembered. Those Ixupi are tricky little things.

Hi, Marian!

"Shivers" is one of my all-time favorite adventure games. I was a member of the now-defunct GAMERS forum on Compuserve when it was released and a bunch of us played it together. We had a ball because we'd log in every time we captured one of those pesky little Ixupis to brag and see how everyone else was doing. After GAMERS closed its doors, I was thrilled when I found GAMEBOOMERS because the camaraderie is the same.

I do remember that the little sneaks had more than one hiding place and, if you missed them the first time, they'd move somewhere else so they could pop out and scare the "you-know-what" out of you when you were least expecting it. Then they'd steal your vessel and you'd have to find it all over again.

Hi Susan!

Hey, I was also a member of that forum at Compuserve. I'm not sure of the screen-name I used, probably Doug something.
Shivers is on my list of favorites as well; I just wish it would play on this fussy new computer. I actually made a list of all the Ixupi and their hiding places. Some had two, some had three. They made me jump laugh

Hi, Doug!

I was the Section Leader of the Adventure section the last 10 or so years before GAMERS closed its doors, and I hosted the Tuesday night Adventure chat. One Tuesday night, we were lucky enough to get Willie Eide (Lead Developer of Shivers and Harvest of Souls) as our guest, and I think that chat went until about 2 o'clock in the morning. As a thank you, he mailed me a Shivers t-shirt. Both Shivers and Harvest Souls are 2 of my favorites, but I haven't tried playing either one since I bought a new computer with Windows 7. I still have my old WinXP computer, so maybe I'll see if I can get one or both to run on that.

I also made notes while playing Shivers and wrote down the locations of all the Ixupis. I may still have them in my old filing cabinet that's down the basement. Before I realized what was happening, one of those pesky little devils jumped out at me, scared me to death, stole my vessel and scattered the pot and lid around the museum, so I had to track them down all over again.
