Mysterious journey 2

I am having a fight with the windmill puzzle, and am definitely coming off second best.
I find that I cannot synchronize the bridge segments.

Can I please check that I am doing it right?

I am starting the puzzle at the second tree from the start point. Is that what the second tree from the far end means, or is it supposed to mean the middle tree - ie the second tree after the first one?

I also find that the segment that I am trying to line up with the previous segment never actually seems to coincide with the previous one - they never seem to come together.

I am probably missing something, but cannot figure out what it is.

Maybe something in this old thread from GameBoomers will help you. There is some advice contained therein.

If not, maybe someone will have a saved game for you.

I finally made it across the bridge, though I don't think I could repeat the exercise.

This game is littered with abstruse puzzles.
