King's Quest Chapter 3 Ending

Hi,

I'm near the end of KQ 3 at the point where King Graham has to climb the tower
ahead of the ice caused by the frost tonic to save the princeses.

The problem is using the keyboard I'm unable to get very far before the ice catches
up to me. I've tried many, many times but to no avail.

Is there a way to bypass this part or I was thinking that using a game controller might
be a little faster. I have a Logitech controller but am unable to get the game
to recognize it.

Or maybe a cheat code so the ice doesn't move that fast, if at all.

You have probably already seen this thread - but I am throwing it out there just in case you haven't seen it and there's something useful in it for you.

I am not finding any cheat codes when I do a search, but maybe someone else will know more.

Actually I didn't see the thread you mentioned - thanks for that.

I did get a little further so I guess if I keep trying I should eventually get
through it but for now on to other games and I'll come back to this one when I
feel more "adventurous."

I know what you mean. Get away from it for a while and then maybe give it another shot from time to time. Sometimes a break from a frustrating sequence is all that's needed.
