How do you get the tower to raise up in the center square? running windows 10

Hi Bill,

What do you mean, when you enter the central square for the first time you find in the middle a rock.
On that rock you see the tower, you have to bring down the rock then you can enter the tower.

You can find a text walkthrough with lots of screenshots on : www.pcgameswalkthroughs.nl.
You have to use google translate because it's in Dutch.

Later on in the game when the rock is down and you can enter the tower, then you have to bring the tower further down and you go underground.

Playing on windows 10 was no problem, I played it in 2016 and wrote the walkthrough in 2017.

Let me know what you mean with raise the tower up.

If you mean the the round disc in front of the rock with the tower, that is a turret that has to raise out of the ground.
Before you can do that you have to solve a couple other puzzles.

Turn around and look to the iron gate in the rock, you have to go through there but first you have to unlock the gate.
You have to solve a puzzle to open up a cabin and inside that cabin you find a switch to unlock that gate.
You have to light up a torch and find the telescooptower, solve another puzzle and then the turret raises.

not the rock,the circle around the rock on the ground that has to have a key put in it.it looks like one of the little towers in the beginning that go down when you shine the crystal from the telescope. I got the key from one of the rooms and you can see the circle on the ground where the little tower should rise. it would let me into another area.

yes this is what I mean.ipassed through everything but can not find the slotplaat. Help

when light from the telscoop is aimed well on the lens and the 4 little towers are up.
leave the torch in place and keep the light on the lens, the 4 little towers must stay up.
go down to the tower there, on top of the tower is a button. push that button a light goes on.
you now have to go to the other towers and push the buttons there.
you have to do that in the right order.
first the one in front of the telescoop, go to the right walk along tower 4. don't push this button yet.
walk further on the jetty to the tower in the water on the right side.
the walk back to the gate and push the button there and then walk back along tower 1 to tower 4. now push that button.
on all the tower should burn a light, the 4 towers go down into the ground and the tower in front of the rock goes up.
there you find a device for one of the other gates.

this is the way how it works in my copy of Quern.

it is such a good game I hope they make Quern 2 or another game like this.

there are lots more difficult puzzles in the rest of the game.
