The Witness - question about ending(s)

Hi everyone,

i am playing The Witness right now, have activated all 11 lasers,
and for further progressing, i have to find the discarded panels
and decipher their logic.

In the meantime, i was wondering if it is possible to try to search
for the secret ending. Is it possible for me with my current game state to still get it
and if yes, is there a savegame created before the secret ending starts -
i obviously don't want to loose my progress becaue i haven't accessed the new area
after activating all 11 lasers yet. I know a savegame gets created before
the 'normal' ending(s), but i am not sure about the secret ending.

Let's wait and see if another player familiar with this game is able to answer your question. I googled and found some discussion pertaining to this but I don't want to inadvertently mess up your game by giving you possibly the wrong info.

Well, question has been answered. I completed 'The Challenge' (very satisfying)
and did the Sceret Ending after it. It seems you can do the Secret Ending anytime
without loosing your progress.
