Simon 3D Giant Plant in Swamp

Hi.

Once I've fed the bird to the plant I'm really stuck <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" />

I've tried following the fence round (on the left) and I've also tried following the wall (?) round (on the right) to get past/behind the plant - but I always end up either not being able to move at all or getting eaten by the plant

So can anyone PLEASE give me some pretty clear directions as to what path I need to follow ??

[Doing a search, I haven't found many people asking about this puzzle so I must be being particularly useless ]

What I did was walk up baby stepping to the plant til I got the bite warning cut scene. Then I baby stepped til I got the big plant icon on the view box. I immediately hit "alt" - to "use" the bird.

As soon as I got control over Simon I jogged over to the fence barely skirting around the leafy projection of the evil plant's left side. The problem with sticking right by the fence is that you run into a clump of reeds around the back of the plant and get stuck. If you stop at all - he eats you. You don't have to run - you just can't stop walking/jogging.

The second problem is that the cave entrance isn't clearly visible. It may even be a glitch that fluctuates. I would try it and concentrate on locating the cave entrance at least visually. If you get eaten at least now you know where to go and can do this fairly easily. So sprint to the fence - then wkeep walking around the side and back of the plane but distancing yourself enough from the fence so that you aren't too near the plant but can clear that reed clump. Immediately after that the cave entrance is there to the back - at the base of the cliff. Once inside you are safe.
