I have tried three time to defeat Mr. Roboto but everytime I try to go back up the stairs to press the red button I can't get an arrow cursor to go back up. Has anyone any suggestions?
Also, do you know if you can save the game before going into the room with the robot? I would like to know before I try again. Don't know why I didn't try before.

You should be able to save before going into the room with the Killer Robot but, to make it easier, have you gotten everything set up to get rid of him once you get to the top of the stairs?

Sounds like you haven't pushed the button at the bottom of the stairs. There are buttons at the top AND bottom. You have to wait for the elevator to come down and then push the button again to go up. Seems you only get the arrow when you wan to go down.

I seemed to have missed the button at the bottom of the stairs. Do you know where it is? Left or right after exiting the room?

At the bottom of the stairs while facing the stairs the red & green buttons are to your right. Watch the elevator come down and then push them again and you will find yourself suddenly at the top in the hall. It's a little disorienting but when you turn around you'll see where you are.

Besides that, when you first go down, push the green button to bring the lift down to your level before you activate the robot, so you don't have to push two buttons with the robot coming at you.

Someone told me about a green pipe that they picked up and it locked their game. The only way to get out was to use Ctr.-Alt.-Del.
Does anyone know about this?

Yep, happened to me. Near the end of the game you apparently are supposed to grab the green hose over the two levers in the Diving Gear Room. Not so.......do not grab as it will lock you up and the hose is unnecessary, anyway. Just a glitch in the program. I sent a save at this point to someone and it locked up their game, too. As I said, you can't get the hose and you don't need it so just ignore it.
