SerpentHead Revisited .... need hint

Hi Everybody,
I downloaded this great game, and am in trouble already.
I have found a note telling me where all the symbols are hidden and I have found four of them, however the third symbol, in the list, is supposed be on a column near the books. Is that in the second floor library? On which wall of books?
I have looked and looked and cant find it.

I hear that a lot of People purchased the game. Has anybody gotten this far?

I'll be glad to give anyone a hint! It's so great that Len is making the walkthrough for the game. He made so many great suggestions, and I already made a few little changes to the demo that made it a lot better.

I also added the screen with the suit of armor, since that wasn't really fair to make people guess the final symbol.

I have been looking all over for a fly for the spider web, and can't find it. Please help. Thank you,

Hi Richard,

This is in the full version only.

You go to the balcony; go to the close-up view of the balcony. If you click on the edge, it says you hear some flies buzzing around.

Use the green potion, which is sweet. Put the potion on the balcony.

Catching the fly is kind of tricky too, but I won't go into detail unless you want me to.

JJK, I'm not sure, but I got the impression that the catching of the fly will only apply in the full game...

You're right, Jenny... this is in the full game.

Yes, there is a magic word to etch into the balcony. This is unrelated to the fly, however. You just happen to catch the fly there.

The magic word is a common word, but you will find clues to it in the Book of Serpents. That is the book on the pedestal that is written in a strange code. You need the crystal to decipher the Book of Serpents.

Here is what I have in my inventory: 2 keys, crown, pliers, heart, dagger, 3 vials colored fluid, one sweet, and the bottles of various ucky potions which I can exchange for 3 others. I have checked the spell books, do I need a spell or am I missing something from my inventory? I tried putting the magnet on the balcony, but that wouldn't work. Thought I could entice the little thing down with the sweet water, and trap him that way, but no go.
Should I have done something else before trying to catch the fly? ARRGGHHH

You are using the wrong potions. Go to the lab. and get the three vials of red,blue,green. Use the green vials on the top balcony and keep clicking in the fly and the curser changes to a hand. It took me three times to catch it. The fly flies up to the top of the screen. Keep trying you will get it.

I have been using the sweet green liquid on the fly for hours! However, everytime the hand appears the fly is gone! I have not been able to get the fly and the hand together on the same screen. On occasion, the fly disappears before it even gets to the top of the screen. I can't under stand what I am doing wrong. I was doing this yesterday, but thought that I was missing something and had to do something else first.
Wow! I tried it again, and managed to get it. Don't ask me how because I clicked and the fly disappeared, and when I went to put the liquid on the balcony again....there was the fly in inventory!
If you hadn't incouraged me, I might have given up.

I used the green liquid on the right side of the balcony screen and just as the fly appears I click on him. Do you want a save game?
I don't think you are doing anythng wrong.

My internet connection has been going down every few minutes today, or else I would have checked in earlier.

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with the fly. I wonder if that is too hard. It seems like all the adults have trouble with it, strangely enough, but the kids get that one right away.

I think maybe it's because adults try to use logic, and kids go more by instinct. I was going for the effect of reaching up and quickly grabbing the fly. Maybe I'll have to rethink that one if it's too frustrating.

I had the identical experience ... from your beginning to the end!

I eventually got that darned fly ... but don't know HOW, and as yet I haven't managed to repeat the action. <img border="0" alt="[winky]" title="" src="graemlins/winky.gif" />

Let me be number three with that fly! I have no idea how I managed to get it, after many frustrating tries--it just appeared in my inventory. As a matter of fact, I may have caught it more than once--the first session of fly-trapping ended when the fly stopped coming, and I assumed you only got so many opportunities and then had to leave the scene and come back. But when it happened a second time, I noticed the fly in my inventory, so that's probably what had happened before and I didn't even realize it...

Hi. for some reason I can't find the chapel. I found it in the demo when I purchased the game I get stuck between the 2 knights. W/T says to go N to chapel, can't go north. Someone please shove me in the right direction. thks Diane

Diane, if you are where the two knights are, there is a door which needs to be opened. Do you remember doing that? If not, here is a clue: SPOILER

Check out the torch on the right hand wall...

The walkthru is (so far) ONLY for the Demo. In it you just pass the 2 knights and go N.

In the full game you have to do a little hocus pocus to get past those knights.

I won't give you the Spoiler unless/until you NEED it.

Hi everyone

That darn fly is driving me nuts! I caught it once and I guess it wasn't the right time to use it on the spider because nothing happened and the fly is now gone from my inventory. So now I have to catch the fly again and I'm not having any luck. The first time was pure accident. Now it seems my cursor never turns into the hand icon. <img border="0" alt="" title="" src="graemlins/pacify.gif" /> Any suggestions?

Thanks, Len for the help--I got your e-mail with the save, but I don't have access to the addresses for people who don't post them publically, only Witchen has that.

Now I'm royally stuck--I've finished the demo section, I have the spider web, magnetized metal, and can't figure out what to do next...

HELP!!

I could use a hint, please! How do you get into the "Constellation" room? I figured out the magic word on the balcony wall, which I thought would remove the shield to that room...but that wasn't the case! Now what???

Hopefully someone else will know, Dudet--you're ahead of me. I haven't been able to find the word that I need yet...

Pull the handle at the top of the doorway to the laboratory entrance. This disables the force field on the observatory. hope this helps

Richard, I have the small telescope, and am looking on the starmap for the serpens, but which way is west?
Am I looking on the wrong thing?

As long as you just click on the starmap anywhere, you'll know where to find serpens in the night sky (look for the snake-like formation of stars in the sky over the balcony).

I got it. The problem was that the drop down inventory bar was obscuring the top half of it and I had to sort of point it in the general direction.

I take one step forward in this game and feel like I've taken at least two backwards! I managed to get the scepter, although not in the manner the book implied. But now I have no idea what to do next! Is there something more to do???

I'm glad I'm not the only one in that boat, Dudet! I managed to make the shrinking potion, with some help from Kathy, but now I can't figure out how to get past that rat...

OK, I have two green potions from the trunk with the cat-lid on it. From what I gather by reading everyone's posts, these are not the potions I use on the fly - I need a green vile from the laboratory. I can't find a laboratory. Is this the room with the glowing gem-stone in the middle?

You're right about needing the green vial from the laboratory, Mike. Have you found the throne room yet? You need to examine those red curtains extremely carefully...

Ah Hah!! I knew I was missing something simple - thanks Jenny that's just the hint I needed. I'm really liking this game - I'll go home this evening, load it up and procede on my merry way!!

Have fun, Mike! This is a fun game, but occasionally a little frustrating for someone with poor eyesight, and this was one of the places...

Don't worry, I can be patient. At least for a little while anyway. It took me a little while to figure out where to use the clock, but I did get it eventually. Let me know if you continue to be stuck.

Arrrggghhh - I'm stuck - I've gotten the clock and found the crack in the floor in front of force field area but have no clue what to use to wedge in the crack - The only thing I have in inventory to use is the clock,the dagger and the two crystals and nothing works. Where the heck is a crowbar when you need one LOL.

Can someone tell me what the heck I'm missing here?

No crowbar needed, luv--just go look at that suit of armor with the plume really carefully, and then go read a book in the library...
