by the fire place and I guess Iam to light fire, but I can not find any matches. I have look evertywhere, evan on the mantle of the fireplace. Did I forget something? appreciate the help gary

Did you click on the fireplace and then zoom-look close on the mantle?

The matches will be there only if you see that there's a fire already on the fireplace.

AND ------- The matches will only appear on the mantle after you've located Grossberg's blackmail note to Von Zell and you've shown the wolf tags to Klingmann.

Here's a list of things that needed to be done from Erk's wt:

Before lighting the lamp, you need to:

1) Visit all the people in the lodge and talk w/ them.
2) Sneak into Preiss's room and get the rope.
3) Using the rope, climb out Preiss's window and into von Zell's room, where you need to get the sheet of paper from his address book and see the muddy footprint under the bath mat.
4) Get the lamp from the main closet, the shears from the stables.
5) Go out into the woods. Find the place with the muddy footprint (same as the bathroom!),then find the brambles. Cut through them with the shears.
Go look at the cave. There's also something on the ground beneath the brambles I think you need to look at.
6) Come back in, show the tags to Klingmann so as to adjust his attitude.
7) Go back downstairs. The fire will be lit. Get the matches off the top right of the mantle.

Make sure you have done everything I mention here

I am havinf a problem with the finale. No matter what I do, I end up getting shot by the police. Is this how it is suppose to end? Or is something else to happen. I need to know. thanks gary

Hi Gary,

Ok, the way is to map the basement and trap the black wolf-Von Glower-red square through the basement towards the furnace room. You are the blue triangle. You can see this by using 'smell' button.

Close the doors to herd him and prevent him from going out and the police from coming down. Use your nose to close the doors.

Here's Erik's tips:
1) You can never open a door you've closed, and you can only close doors from the side that they open toward.
2) Von Glower will never stay in a room adjacent to you, unless it's a diagonal.

Now more work and more fun! This part was exciting.

Okay, one more thing. What is the smell Button? I do not remember anything of that. How do I get to use the smell button. I never got the book for the game. gary

just take a look at the screen. once you've turned into a wolf in the basement, there's a "smell" button (i can't remember exactly where on the screen, i think it's on the bottom right). this is how gabe the wolf senses where von glower is in the basement. using this button will show you a map of the basement, and it'll show where you and von glower are.

Can you click on yourself - grey wolf and then 'smell? I have to check this and hunt for the game in storage. Be back.
