Just left Hori's house, and turned left to get the key from the top of Tschai's door, and it isn't there. Any suggestions what I am missing?

It isn't a key that you are supposed to pick up from Tschai's door--there is a peg up there that you have to get. If it's not there, you've probably missed some other action before this, which you can determine by checking the two walkthroughs we have here at GameBoomers...
