5 days with stranger/help

hi

i`m stuck in the game and can`t figure out what i
am doing wrong.
i`ve got the matthew defoe-detector working and it has lead me down to the kitchen. i have looked at the walk-thru so i know i have to use the pick axe on the wall,the problem is ther is not a hot spot on the wall or the floor to use the pick axe on.

The hot spot is on the wall to the left as you face the door--if you aren't getting it, maybe you've missed something else...

thank you jenny-i went bsck and rechecked everything. the problem was i never looked at the plans in the inventory.
