I am really enjoying playing this game,and I have got to act 3,but I cannot get lewton to brake open the wine barrells in the cellar.I have tried everything including starting the act again,can anybody help.thanks

I couldn't get him to do it either. finally I clicked on the curved turret wall (not the flat one...the one closest to him) at the palace and then the wine barrels. I then turned into a wolf and clicked on the odors surrounding the barrels. I don't know which action caused it but I was able to get into the barrels in the wine cellar then.

Uhm, just a guess here. Did you talk to Sameal about wine deliveries to the castle (soon)? Do you have the crowbar?

You have to go firs to the Patrician Palace
go to right behind the palace and turn into wolf
and small the empty barrels and then you find out that the killer got inside to a barrel to go in to the palace.After then you can open a barrel in the seller with the crowbar.

I have tried clicking on wall,smelling the barrels,but I havn't got the message about the killer getting inside the palace in a barrel.I have spoken to sameal about yhe barrels and I have got the crowbar,but all he keeps saying is that he could climb into the barrel.

I had the same problem. Go to Palace. Turn into wolf. If you click on the picture of the wolf again you will get a pop-up of scents. I don't remember which scent it was so click them one by one on the barrels. Lewton will say something to let you know which is the right one. After you do this you will be able to climb into the barrel. It took me a while to figure this out. I accidentally discovered the pop-up of scents.

The scent is the scent of the serial killer,
if I remember well it is a red one.

I installed the game this morning and am now at start of Act2 - I'm getting there! Hope you've solved the problem before I can get to you're problem.

thank you all very much,where i was going wrong was i was putting the serial killers smell onto the barrels instead of onto the majenta smell.

I also initally did what you've done and had to go abck and forth to the basement and at the wall are.

I'm glad a good friend insisted I play the game and loaned me hers. It is funny and a great puzzle game.
