Watchmaker----4:55 p.m.

Watchmaker----4:55 p.m. - 06/27/02 09:29 PM

I am really stuck at 4:55, and cannot seem to go on in the game. I am trying to find the rose in the dining room, which is suppose to be on the tea tray. I have been to the crypt, and done the statue thingy. Been upstairs in the guest bedroom, back down to the kitchen. No rose to be found, need a big shove. rolleyes

Actually, Beverly, that rose doesn't come into play until 5:30, so you're too early at 4:55, and need to do some other things first, as well as think about what you later might use in combination with the rose, which I suspect will appear when your clock moves on a bit. All the best. Old Rooster

The thing that triggers the Rose is running into the housekeeper and being scolded for getting the Cook drunk. The thing that triggers that scene is talking to the cook about the housekeeper and what a tyrant she is.

You also need to have a conversation about Tea-Time, which means asking about Jude.

I am still at 4:55 and holding!! laugh
The housekeeper is nowhere to be found!! frown
I talked to her earlier in the game, and thought I asked her every thing. Guess not, huh? Can you tell me where to find her now? eek
Thanks,

Beverly: Look for Carla in or near the 4th floor guest bedroom in the morning; in the basement laundary in the afternoon; and in the supervisor's apartment in the early evening. O.R.

After you find the cook snoozing upstairs, try looking for him in the kitchen again. On one replay, I was able to question him about Greta even that late in the game.

If you have done everything necessary, she will find you, you don't need to go looking for her. Have you had any talk about Tea-Time yet?

Try going to the Supervisor's apartment.

Also, if you discover the missing trigger, would you let me know? I'll put it in the walkthrough. Thanks

I am not a happy gamer!! I went back to a saved game at 4:03 where I am at the clock tower. Then after doing all that the walk through says to do, and finish with Victoria helping Darrel out of the crypt. It continues to be 4:55. There is no rose in the dining room. Just a trolley with a plate and three glasses on it. Is that where the rose is suppose to be?
I am going to put this game on hold for the week-end, and may try starting over next week some time. Cannot figure out what will trigger my finding the rose. Supervisor's apt. is locked!

No, the rose appears on the dining table itself, on the end furthest away from the kitchen.

Hi Bevlee and all........
I am stuck at the same place...I can't get past 5:10 PM. This is indeed getting tiresome. I have search the castle and the grounds and can't find anyone but Carla or the caretaker to talk to and that doesn't seem to trigger the clock.

Ho-hum! I really don't want to go back to a saved game and repeat all those tiresome conversations. Has anyone got any better ideas? rolleyes

I was stuck around this point too. In my case I think finding the painting under the cabinet in the old wing unlocked it so I could move forward. I suspect there's some little something like that you haven't done yet.

It's me again....
I started the game over and I finally got past that stuckness at 5:10!! laugh laugh laugh

But unfortunately, I can't tell you what it was that I did differently...except I hadn't noticed the little red arrow at the bottom of the dialogue boxes where you could scroll down to find more subjects. Obviously I missed several important subjects (such as the 'gala evening'). This might have been my problem. rolleyes

Anyway I take back what I said about this game on another thread (is it just me?). I am now thoroughly enjoying this game now that I understand it a little better. I'm still not finished...it took me all evening just to get up to where I find the rose on the table.
I'm looking forward to finishing the game tomorrow, though. happydance
