Yes I put in the new settings. I just wish there was some indication that I have them right. Thanks Diane

Diane,
All three areas (potentiometers, peghead, and switch) work together for an even larger puzzle. You can make adjustments any time if the final solution doesn't work.

Thanks ladyKestrel, guess I will continue with the switch and hope it all turns out right. Good luck to me. LOL Diane

HELP!!!!!!!!! I need to do the final switch but I can't get the switch ball back to it's original position. How do you roll it back? Could I have the figures on the model wrong, so it won't let me? Don't know what to do. Diane

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/10/04 09:17 PM

lol I hear you hollering! First, the switch ball needs to be put into its original position with the keyboard showing. At the water tone machine, the keyboard will show B (next to last key), and the ball will be in the right middle position. From there, you'll be able to turn the stairs upside down and proceed with the final setting.

How do I get to the strummer? Where is the Main Vault? I'm stuck at the end and don't know what to do. Diane

Sami,
Check the back of the columns in the main hall. There is a lever you may have missed. smile

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/11/04 01:53 AM

Oh yes, I sure did. I think I must be missing something Arin appeared in the strummer control panel video screen but then he went away and now I'm stuck again. So close yet so far. Maybe I'm missing putting in the codes on the vaults? One of them has no buttons. What ever to do next? Diane

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/11/04 02:08 AM

Sami,
You must enter the button code on Arin's vault door (up the ladder) and the main vault by the strummer elevator. If that doesn't work, let me know. I can send you the final puzzle settings for you to check.

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/11/04 02:12 AM

Yes I did enter the button codes in both , still doesn't work. Please send me the final puzzle setting to check. Thank you very much. Diane

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/11/04 07:10 PM

Thanks for the e-mail. I checked the settings on the switch the peghead the potentometers and everything appears to be set right. I have the 2 vaults set with the green light on and the numbers all on 2. I must have missed something somewhere and I have no idea where to look with out starting all over. I don't think I'm up to that. I'm sure I'm close because Arin spoke to me at the stummer and told me I was on the right track. Wish I knew what track that is. LOL Woo!! is me. I'm at a loss. If anyone has any ideas I could try without starting over feel free to clue me in before I give up. Thanks Diane

Back to the Potentiometers: When I zoomed in on the Jacktower Spherin, the sequence of the final settings was different than that shown in the WT. It was the same 4 planets, but in a different order. Should I follow the order in the WT, or is the solution random for each game?

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/11/04 08:43 PM

If you relate the planet positions to the actual puzzle positions, they make sense smile

Diane, the same thing happened to me & my problem was with the water tone switch. It was not set properly. Try going back to the switch & pulling the lever again.

Diane,
The planets in the jacktower spherin are different from the ones that got you to the top of the tower. (In the walkthrough, you may have been looking at the part that refers to the planet panels in the cabins.) You must go back to the potentiometers in the planetarium and set those panels according to the spherin.

Remember, you don't have to replay any of the puzzles in this game. They can be fixed without having to start over.

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/12/04 06:17 PM

Do you have to go through the whole game of going back and forth for example: solving the bird code for the flyer. Do I have to go back down to the cabins and listen to each bird or can I just go to the solution? I have not been able to end the game. I got to thinking maybe it was because I skipped that part to obtain the solution to the flyer code. I got everything set right because after completeing the puzzles everything worked like it was supposed to. The ball turned in the Switch, the bullet elevator came up, the lever worked to turn the flyer in the tower and the sphere came out of the conservatory puzzle everything has worked after solving the puzzles as they should have worked the only thing I can think of that fouled up the game is my not following through with the solutions. <img border="0" alt="cry" title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="cry" title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" /> mad

Re: Alida potentiometers ? - 09/12/04 07:26 PM

Dutch,
You do not have to redo anything as this is a very non-linear game. I could start a new game right now, plug in the correct codes from my notes, and have a successful ending. However, it is essential that you have the three parts of the guitar set correctly according to the videos in the spherins.

Check the switch first. You may have forgotten to pull the lever after you set the water tone machine. Check the potentiometers to make sure you have chosen the correct planets.

Check the "Alida Quest" thread because several people had the same problem with this part.
Good luck!
