Uru to D'ni

Uru to D'ni - 02/22/05 12:14 AM

I have started the game over 5 times, trying to get the Arc GZMU marker. I have been to every balcony(2 that looks like the pictures in the official guide), but no marker.
My Ki doesn't make a sound to show there is a GZMU marker anywhere around.
I started the Arc machine & it is beeping its head off & shows the coordinates.
What do I need to do to trigger the marker to be there?
I even bought another expansion Pack, thinking the first might be bad.
Please, someone help. I need to finish!
My XP has to go back to HP to let them check out the crackling noises it makes when it is loading up.
Thanks, Jtiffin

Hi Jriffin, there is a marker off a balcomy in Ae'gura, I think it overlooks an area near the concert hall. I used the linking book in my Relto to get there. I think this is the one that gives you the arc reading.
Once you get it go back and upload the KI to the GZMU.
See if this will help you get started.

jtiffin, if by GZMU you mean The Great Zero Courtyard, that is only available after the first 5 markers, its down the stairs to the courtyard, turn left and come back beside the stairs.

Hope got the right place.

Chief, Great Zero Maintenance Units. It's an area in the Great Zero Courtyard that opens up after you've found all of the first markers and downloaded them.

I think so Chief. That's the place where we used arc, distance etc.

Isn't that marker on the balcony the one you cab access from a linking panel on the back wall of one of the circles in Eder... think

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/22/05 05:49 PM

Well I went back over all balconies again & my KI doesn't sound off. I must have grabbed it for one of the fifteen, probably when crossing the swinging bridge.
I will start over again. I have to replay the Cleft, Teledahn, Eder Gira & Eder Kemo. Glad they are easy to play, know them by heart.
When I get back to D'ni I will not grab any that over look that street in the canyon & see if I have the ARC GZMU left when I need it. Let you know.
Thanks, Jitffin

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/22/05 06:36 PM

jtiffin, can I ask what is the ARC GZMU?

Texaslady told me what GZMU means, but ARC????

Have read the WT 3 or 4 times last night and can't make any connection with that marker.

Thanks.

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/23/05 12:18 AM

Chief,
I really can't say what it is only that you have to have it!
When you make it to the back room (Calibration Center, at the back of the Rezeero, where the Great Zero Maintenance Units(GZMUs are)you have to set the calibration on three of them. The one for the Arc, one for distance & one for height. When you successfully do those three machines, you then have a fourth & final one to set. The first three must be set before you can even start the fourth one. After the fourth & final is done you can go on playing to finish the game.
But I can't get past the ARC machine, I have done the other two with no trouble at all.

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/23/05 12:31 AM

If I remember correctly, the marker that comes from the balcony is a function of the machine on the left side, away from the window. First, are you sure that you pushed the blue button after you inserted your KI in the second machine? If that isn't done, the marker doesn't actually register.

If you've done that, put your KI in that front machine on the left and push the blue button. Now go to your Relto and check your City book. There is a linking page to the art gallery in Kadish (where you found another of the markers) and the page that comes before that one should be the link to the correct balcony. As I remember, it's not terribly large and the marker was right there up in the air.... luck

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/23/05 12:42 AM

jtiffin, now I know : in his WT, Coelho Buda calls it the Toran attribute.

I'll try to help. The first link to this balcony is in Kadish Tolesa, a Journey stone, in a niche near the second telescope:that will get you the link to the canyon balcony.

Then, to get your marker, go there via the brown book in Relto : it could be the page After the one that links to Kadish Gallery.

Hope I got it right.

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/23/05 01:23 AM

Chief, I'm glad to know where that linking stone is--the only one I have pinned down is the one to the rooftop in Eder. But I think that the canyon one is the one before the gallery, not the one after it.

Jtiffin, maybe you could let us know exactly where the linking picture is located in the City book, once you find the marker...

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/24/05 05:51 AM

Chief,
You are right.
I finally got the ARC Marker. It all boils down to which book is used to get to the balconies.
Like with the books for Bevin & Kirel Neighborhoods each is a little different. I never could get the 57 & 77 coordinates to appear together, because I was using the wrong book!
I had to use the Purple Kadish Tolesa book & use that Bahro Linking Stone. It dropped me on the balcony right in front of the marker.
Jenny, I can't say where the linking picture is located in the City Book. Some of my pictures are not where yours are, I didn't get them in the same order that you did. Well, now on to expansion pack 2! I have until the 24th of next month to get all finish & XP shipped to HP.
Thanks to all, Jtiffin

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/24/05 05:59 AM

Congratulations, Jtiffin!!! bravo Now you can have some fun swimming.

I was wondering about the order of the pages in the City book myself. I guess the only way to tell if they go in the order you find them, or if there is a predetermined order that everyone's pages end up, would be to compare books with several people. Right now I don't have time to do that, I'm afraid, but it would be interesting to see about it. Maybe I'll see if I can find out from someone I know who is very knowledgeable about Uru.... think

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/24/05 03:51 PM

Hi Jenny and Jtiffin,Coelho Buda in his WT says this about The Brown book : "This is the final configuration of this book. During the game, pages will be in different positions depending on what links you already have."

Since I followed the Wt frequently for both URU and To D'ni, the link to the Balcony was after the Galery. But I discovered that link looking in the book as I to went "before" the first time because it is said to do so in the WT. In his configuration of the book, before his remark, the Balcony is after the Galery, but later in the WT, Buda says to look before the Galery.

So, as you guys say : there is no predetermined order.

I to would like to know, probably by Dadguy, what is the real reason.

Have a good day. lol

I am so glad you got it, Jtiffin. thumbsup I'm never much good with requests like this. I just ran around until I tripped over them lol

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/25/05 02:59 PM

Chief and Jenny,

I don't know how the order of the pages in the City Book are determined. I recall that during the same game, the order had changed a few times. It had something to do with which page you had linked to most recently.

It's of no consequence. I just page thru the link pages until I see the one I want.

Also, I think that the other mistake folks have made is not understanding that there are two different balcony links in the city. One is above the Terrace by the tent and the other is above the Canyon (the canyon that has the rope bridge going over it). You have to get the right balcony to secure the GZCM.

Glad that Jtiffin found it in any case.

Have fun!

Re: Uru to D'ni - 02/25/05 04:00 PM

I think you are talking about the balcony which has a marker no one can find. This is a way to get it - go back to Eder Kemo, opposite the brain trees is a cliff, go to the bottom of the cliff and turn around, there is a statue thingee straight ahead, go over to it, around the back and you will see a battered cloth, touch it and you will be transported to the balcony with the marker in front of you. Good luck

Re: Uru to D'ni - 03/05/05 06:50 PM

I have not played the game for a few weeks. I still can not find the first marker. It should read 71-74, but I get 74-84. Dadguy said something about this but I can't find it. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. It may not be in Kadish Gallery. razmom

Razmom, are you looking for the GZMU markers? I don't remember numbers being associated with the first two batches of marker hunting.

Re: Uru to D'ni - 03/05/05 09:30 PM

Razmom, I never paid any attention to the numbers associated with the markers, just went to the locations that someone had kindly given me. But I had the same problem you are having--my first marker, in the Kadish Art Gallery, didn't show up! And I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't for the same reason mine didn't appear.

It turned out that after I put my KI into the machine in the back room of the Great Zero, I neglected to push the blue button--and the marker won't show up unless you do push it. Once I did that, when I went to the Art Gallery, the marker was hanging in the air right in front of me as I linked in... luck
