Discworld Noir - Act 3

I'm at the part where I have to use the crowbar on the wine barrel in which to hide. Can't seem to work this bit of the game. Any help would be very welcome.

I seem to remember you having to use your scent to sniff out the correct barrell - have you done that?

Also something about receipts that are on the barrell by the door as you come in.

You have to go to the palace and go around to the back, turn into a wolf and find out that the killer got into the palace in a wine barrel.

To find out that the killer hide himself in the barrel, you must use the killers scent from the scent screen (F4) with the lillac/pink colour you see when you are a wolf.
