Searches

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I cannot seem to get any response when I do a search. I know a couple months ago (or more) I had asked if there was a place I could go for demos of pc games. Not sure if it was Chief that responded, but someone did and gave me a website (I lost it). Now I'm trying to do a search and no matter what topic or wording I put in, # of weeks or months, I always get "There are no results from your query." Not exactly sure what "Display name search is", but never had problems before you changed the website. Can someone give me a nudge and some directions regarding "search." Thanks

It's either that or close the forum. Maybe we should.

As for the search, try less that one year on time frame.

I'm sorry MaG, I didn't mean to offend you. Of course, you don't shut down the forum, I just needed a little help with this format, because I was having trouble doing searches for things I wanted to look up. I wasn't sure what display name was because it didn't necessarily have to be my name, but anyone else who had also played a game - say ND Royal Tower. Say I would try Royal Tower, nothing came up, I would try Nancy Drew, Royal Tower, nothing came up. So if I don't have a name for the person in display name search what do I do then? Say, I'm looking for Riddle of the Sphinx, not sure what I'm looking for, but just hints that others have given regarding that game. Again, I'm sorry that I have offended you MaG. Anytime you make changes to something, there will be those who are a little slow in getting with those changes, I happen to be one of them and sometimes need a little oomph in the right direction. You have a great forum here, the best in any website. I'm proud to be a member. I did try my name BrownEyed Tiger, but I must not have gone back far enough in the search. Thank you.

Butterfly, the games you just mentioned are old and may not come up in the current Hints forum, so try the Archives for your search. I'll bet you'll come up with plenty.

I did go back and try again just with Riddle of the Sphinx and did less than 1 year (without my name) and many came up. My problem was that I wasn't putting in a longer period of time. Thank you for the nudge before and also for the suggestion.
