Cleopatra: A Queen's Destiny Available on Digital Download

Cleopatra: A Queen's Destiny is now available for digital download at the Kheops shop.

You can download also The Secrets of Da Vinci and Destination: Treasure Island, and you can choose the English or the French version.

You download the game (apparently takes quite a bit of time, so be sure to have a Broadband connection!) and then you have to buy an activation code from Kheops, at the cost of $29.99.

Downloading now- even with a Brodband connection I'm only downloading at 41K/sec. I usually get up to 800K/sec. It's going to take hours. Don't know if it's worth it.

I'm downloading now too. I haven't received an activation code yet, though I did get a receipt number via Pay Pal. I'll email Kheops and see if that's the same number, or if we should expect a different one.

Mad -- I don't think the download version being available now necessarily means that the disk version will arrive on store shelves sooner. Hope I'm wrong about that, though.

How fast are you downloading the game Becky?

Hi kjos I started at 9:19 this morning and I'm at 90%. It said it would take about 3 hrs and it looks like that is about right. I am downloading at about 176-200/sec. It looks like I have about 20 min left. Not too bad as I am almost there.

Thanks for checking on the activation code. I did check on the get serial number box in the download box and it states it would be sent via email once transaction was completed. I don't know if it means once paypal trancsaction is completed or once game is installed completely and we try to play. I'm a bit confused as I ordered at 9:15 am or so and still no code.

One more thing Becky....

When I got to the end of the download I keep getting a box that tell me a problem has been encountered and will have to close. I have tried several times now and cannot complete the download. However, the setup icon is on my desktop so I was able to install the game but now it does ask for the serial number, which I don't have. I am so confused. Hope you will be able to find something out for us. Thanks Again.

Okay got it to finally run. I also went to their Helpdesk section and the serial number will come under different cover within 24 hours after paypal transaction has been completed. So I guess now it's another waiting game.

Sorry, but just received an email from support from the Kheopps Shop and the activation code should come automatically from them (kheopps) when the paypal transaction is completed. They did not received mine yet so they think it might be a delay from their provider and the are testing now. Hopefully I will get it soon and will keep you posted. Sorry for all of the editing but I thought I would keep those of you who have purchased the digital download in the loop in case you are experiencing the same things I have.

I started downloading at 9:15 this morning -- in my case, the download is about halfway done. I still haven't received the activation/serial number either.

I have heard back from the developer, though! They asked for all the information I could give them, which I just sent. They are trying to trace my order and see why the activation/serial number didn't come via email.

Kheops is trying to get everything straightened out. They are in France, so they are several hours ahead of the U.S. and it will soon be the middle of the night there. We may not know anything until tomorrow morning U.S. time.

I have not received my activation code either and started downloading this morning. The paypal transaction still shows as unclaimed. I'll wait til tomorrow and then email them if I still don't have the activation code.

This has been a long download :-)

I also sent PayPal payment to Kheops and then spent almost 7 hours downloading the game. PayPal indicates that my payment won't be processed until October 4th, and an email to Kheops (which received a prompt response) confirmed that I won't be sent an activation code until the payment is processed. Not sure why PayPal will take so long to do an instant electronic transfer of cash from my bank account, but I shall wait until the 4th for the code. Fingers crossed...

I received two notices from the Kheops shop this morning -- one said that they had accepted my payment (although payment was through Paypal, I used the option to use a credit card and did not actually pay through a Paypal account). The other email gave me the serial/activation number.

Has anyone else received these emails?

I played the beginning of Cleopatra just to make sure everything was working okay -- the environments so far are gorgeous.

BTW -- at the end of the download I received an error message, but despite the message there was a Setup file that worked perfectly to install the game. Which makes me think that the error message was itself in error.

Just received my activation code this morning. Haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it will work. 10 hours to download the game.

We have to work because we didn't have the sense to be born independently wealthy. Besides, all play and no work would be bad for us. In some way. For some reason. Right?

Hi all!

I started downloading the game yesterday here at the office and after about 66% was downloaded we lost our DSL for a few hours.
It took about 2 hours to get 66%, and I restarted the download this morning and it took about 1 1/2 hours to finish. ( It restarted at like 33% ) If it would have downloaded all in one shot I estimate it would have taken about 3 hours with our DSL connection.

I must say this... BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS!!! I am VERY impressed. The voices so far are wonderful also. I only played for a few minutes because I was in the middle of reading about Britney having to give up her kids to Kevin Federline and of course I had to finish. I then wanted to jump on here and give my 2 cents about my first impression of the game. I'm foregoing starting my 3rd episode on CSI so I can immerse myself in Cleopatra for a few hours. Buy it! Download it!


* Side note - I got the error also at the end of the download but when I clicked on the installation thingy it installed perfectly. I agree with the previous poster that the error message in itself seems to be an error. I also waited until this morning to pay for the game and I had my activation code sent within a few minutes. They seem to have resolved the delay in sending activation codes also. Off to play now!

I feel the same way! - but I worked out that for me it was sort of necessary to pay for the little things in life like mortgage, bills etc & then move into more exciting things like food!!! & then ... lots of games!!! (work just means a lot less time to play! )

I've gleaned that the game is coming out on disc also? which I would prefer.

Got to disagree with you a little bit Becky - All play & no work makes for a VERY happy bunny - well - it would do for me!!

When I click on the "Playable Demo" it responds with "Available Soon."

Hi everyone, I have a few questions:

I'm really having a conflict whether to d\l the game or not. It looks gorgeous, but you never know....
So, for those of you who played- do you think it's worth it? (I'm a real sucker for graphics and Myst-like games)
And... it is in English, right?
Also - say I download it, can I get it on a cd/dvd later? or will it be only playable on this computer (say if I ever change it - could I move the download and install again with the code I recieved?)

All I can say is that I never did a download..
But I'm glad I did...This game is well worth the money..

Graphics are excellent...there is so much to do..
You can buy it on CD ...but you will have to pay another 29.99..

I don't know about playing it on several computers..Maybe someone else can help you..

Tomer -- yes, the game is in English (just make sure that you download the English version and not the French version).

I've only played in a short ways, but the graphics are gorgeous and the story set-up is intriguing.

I'll see if I can find out about whether the downloaded game is playable on only one computer.

Tomer, you won't be able to move the game and install on a second computer using the same code. I downloaded to my desktop and then wanted to move it to my laptop as I was going to be gone for a large block of time (it would have been a good time to play). However, it would not activate on the second computer.

I don't know if the publisher will give you a second activation code as I did not check on that.

Now that's a problem. When I get a game, spend money on it - I love the feeling of *owning* it. If something happens to the computer, etc...
That's why I'm a bit concerned with downloading it.
But thanks for the answers guys! I'll try to decide soon (indeed a profound conflict!)

Downloaded the French version demo from FileFront just to have a look at how beautiful it was-I was not disappointed!!!. Downloaded English version in 1hr 5 mins at 472K (Is this a record?) Now off to play.
