Myst Online: Uru Live -- Getting Started as a New Explorer - 11/01/07 02:53 PM
If you've been flirting with the idea of trying Myst Online: Uru Live (MOUL) -- now is the time. The season finale, "Exodus" starts today, November 1st.
I know some people have been worrying that it might be too intimidating to get started. So I've put together a "New Explorer" starter package to make it easier to get going.
GameTap
To play MOUL in the U.S. and Canada, you have to become a guest or a member of GameTap. You can try out GameTap membership and MOUL by getting a free Tap ID at GameTap. Or you can join for an initial fee of 99 cents. Minimum requirements to play MOUL on GameTap are here. NOTE: you'll need a broadband connection.
Once you've got your free Tap ID, or chosen to subscribe to GameTap, you go into the game area on GameTap and find Myst Online: Uru Live. If you see the Myst Online graphic on the opening screen, just click on it. If you don't, go into the Game Vault (icon near the bottom) and click on "Game Types," then select "Adventure" and scroll through until you reach the MOUL picture (it's in the "M" section of Adventure, but the most obvious word on it is "Uru."
If you don't live in the U.S. or Canada, to see if MOUL is available in your particular country, click here, and scroll to the bottom of the screen and look at the flags. For a free Myst Online trial, you can click here.
Once you've downloaded the MOUL game files, you're ready to begin! You can leap right into the game, or you can read a bit about it first.
